Masterson Art Palettes
I have used Masterson' Stay Wet palette system for 30 + years. The sponge shown here is used wet under a paper palette to keep acrylic paint from drying to quickly. It works perfectly when paired with one of Masterson's palettes. Will keep paint moist for up to room weeks. Love it.

Great Sta wet sponge
Good material, efficient and cheap. I took the perfect dimension (12" x 16") to fit in my sta wet palette box to keep my acrylic humid ...and save money as paint can really be expensive. Think of checking humidity from time to time if you do not pain regularly...I take out my paper palette and vap a little bit on the sponge and then on the paints....I also freeze my palettes. One of my friends uses the huge squre sponges from the supermarkets, but they tend to dry faster than these ones. A good investment if you paint with acrylic.

SAVES PAINT! Win!
It has kept the paints wet and usable. Otherwise a small puddle of paint will be bone dry within a minute. I use the Masterson sponge/palette/paper for larger puddles of paints and mix on coated paper plates or glass with paper underneath. You can use the Masterson set up as a palette, it depends on how you are working. If you work quite wet, using them more like water colors, it's great. If you use the paints heavier closer to an oil paint consistency, you might want to mix on something else.Depending on what I want, I will mix some colors on the Masterson palette and others on a plate or glass. The dark blues, even a large puddle tend to sink in. So take that into consideration when laying them out - use a bit more than you need. The yellows stand up really well. White is somewhere in between, which may vary on which white you use.Follow the instructions exactly to begin with. You may want to use more or less water in the sponge/palette depending on what you find. My Masterson collected dust for decades because I didn't follow instructions and gave up acrylics for oils (which was a whole new set of unsolvable problems!). The case is difficult to close. I couldn't get the edges down with a hammer! The one last corner would never snap in. It's is helpful to close the middles first, then the corners. For the corners, put each hand on a perpendicular side on the sides of the box, line your thumbs up slightly over the corners and think in terms of the very tip of the corner going over as opposed to settling into place.I practiced by holding it upside down and really looking at how how it lined up. You have to work with the warp - shift for position, bend and press different ways and different places. It works even if it isn't 100% air tight, but a complete seal is possible. If all else fails perhaps exchange it and see if another palette lines up better. I have the blue top. If you are truly at your wit's end, saran wrap the hole thing or tie use some type of resealable plastic bag over it.

Love My Masterson!
I am by no means a professional artist, but I paint with acrylics and occasionally watercolor paints. This sponge has been a miracle to me. And it can be to you as well. Before I found the Masterson sta-wet system I was wasting so much paint. Or, I would get the perfect mixed color I wanted and would have to stop painting and throw away my paints! Now, with this fabulous sponge I mix my paints and put the lid on the Masterson tray, and the sponge keeps the paint wet for about a week! You can check in between, and, if your paints are drying a little, just add a small amt. of water to the sponge and the paints thin right up again. If you have a Masterson syetem, then you are familiar with this sponge. If you are a budding artist who is wasting paint, look for the Masteson trays on Amazon. One sponge can last for 6 to 8 months if you care for it properly. Great deal for the price!

Definitely does the job. Worth the money.
Came in time despit the fact that I’d been warned there might be a delay. I didn’t think it was going to fit, but good thing I didn’t cut it down because once I followed directions, it fit perfectly!

The sponge keeps the special pallet paper wet so acrylic paint stays wet.
I did not like the size. The palette size is 16 by 20 inches but the area for the sponge is less than that so the sponge should be the size of the well.
