Black Horizon (Jack Swyteck Novel, 11) Mass Market Paperback – November 25, 2014

I discovered Jack many years ago and have listened to every one of the books, but had to read one of them. I am a total audio book junkie, I am normally listening to 3 or 4 audio CD books at a time. I totally love them as the person who reads the stories brings so much emotion and inflection to the characters that it is like you are talking with them in person. The audio CD books are great as you can share them with friends also. I listen to many character series books that have colorful, entertaining, smart and smart ass main players and I just delight and laugh along with them and get so caught up in the readers voice and tale that I just want more and more and more - sure wish Jack was a real person would love to meet him!!! Jack is one of my very favorite characters!!

I have been binge reading the Jack Swyteck series for a couple of months and have now caught up! Loved them all! This one was a bit slow moving for the first 1/3 of the book but then became so exciting that I read it in one sitting! Theo was a scene stealer with most of his comments in this book! Andie appeared to be tougher than Jack, who seemed more tired than in other books. But together with the villains and other characters, this book became a winner.

Black horizon was another hit in the jack swytek series. I’ve enjoyed all the books in the series. This book brought jack and Theo investigated a death on an oil rig that exploded and caused a terrible oil oil in the gulf.this is a great read.

This was a fun and simple read. Nothing jaw dropping about it. It delivered with the entertainment and I was happy with it. I don't know if I would follow the character anymore. I like the south Florida location and he did his research.

I loved all the previous Jack Swyteck Novels but this one is probably the worst one thus far. I love Thoe in all the books but in this one all he does is make stupid jokes and seem like a complete moron during the whole book. In all the other books he is one bad dude that you don't mess with. Theo is my favorite character in this series so I did not like this one. I seem to be one of the few since it's mostly rated 5 stars. Would not read this one again.

Like other Jack Swyteck novels O enjoyed the intricacies and interface among characters, especially Andie, Theo and Jack. Interface among law enforcement, legal profession and humor keep me interested as well as smiling. James makes it work.

I liked it because I like James Grippando as an author. I got into the story but it seemed to drag along a lot and wander. Its nice that his wife is such a strong FBI agent, very take charge in everything. But he shouldn't be made to seem brow beaten by her. O.K., I'm a woman and I'm still saying she is too much at times. He's the center of the story, shouldn't be hen pecked.

I have just started reading James Grippando and am wondering why I have never read or heard of him before. So far I have read three of his books and really enjoyed them. He creates twists and turns to his writing that makes read his books a pleasure. If you have not read a book of his try I am sure you will enjoy him.

James Grippando - always seems to hit it right - I particularily like these - as good as Grisham at his best - lots of twists and turns, if you haven't tried him it's well worth it.

Great characterisation. Innovative story. Loved the Cuban backdrop. Read it in 36 hrs. Can't wait for next year's book! Recommended

He always tells a good story,Combined with Jack Swyteck an easy read nice storyline.So buy you won't be disappointed.
