An excellent shaving brush that does not cost an arm and a leg

At the time of this review you can get this handmade badger shaving brush for £9.50 with an Amazon discount voucher. First thing to do when you get this brushes, give it a wash. I found when my brush arrived it was quite dirty and turn the water light brown so certainly give it a wash before you shave it. It is a natural product so does need a bit of a clean. I only previously used fake acrylic brushes for a wet shave. Using a badger brush you’re certainly different. It’s a different techniques, using acrylic brush. There are plenty of YouTube videos out there telling you how to use it and how to prepare for the shave. I did note on the only other review at the time I write this the person said that all the hairs came out first time they used it. I had a shave with it about half an hour ago and only one hair came out so perhaps their brush was defective and should be replaced. Certainly, I would expect a manufacturer/supplier, if they are provided with evidence of that, to send a replacement. Mine is fine so far. I’ve got no issues whatsoever with the quality. It looks like a really nice piece of walnut on the bottom really nicely polished stainless steel and a decent head badger on the top. I would say the brush is not as big and fluffy as it appears in the advert on Amazon , it is certainly a standard size brush for wet shaving At this price point, it’s well worth getting if you’re happy to have a badger hairbrush as opposed to an acrylic one. Update - so over a year later I have been using this brush every other day. It works well and still keeps its shape but they I do towel dry it and hang it between shaves. I do get a loose hair every other shave, annoying because a loose hair can cause drag in the razor. Perhaps the style appeals to you, mine has not rusted and the walnuts wood is still like new in over a year of use. Still a good brush and worth the money it was advertised at when I ordered it, I notice the price has jumped up to nearly £17, I’m not sure I would be happy with the hair loss at that price but if you like the look of it you will have to pay what is beings asked at the time If you are thinking about buying one i hope the review is helpful

I really like this brush as it makes a good lather from my shaving bowl soap. Firm but soft, and not scratchy like so many others. Think it looks very smart, so I bought a holder to hang it from and take good care of it.

Smaller than I thought, - even giving measurements doesn’t present you with the size of product you thought you’d be getting! When first used, I thought the hairs would be a lot softer than they are, but they appear to be softening with use. I’m a little disappointed with the amount of hair loss, I thought by this time, manufacturers would have sorted out how to well and truly, permanently bind all the hair base into the handle, - but it seems we’re not quite there yet. There’s no way of knowing if the hair is genuine badger or not, it could be anything, and there are many species of badger around the world. Update March 2024... I really don't know how long this brush is going to last, each time I use it, loads of hair deposits itself on my face, and gums up my razor and the plughole. I saved all this, in the photo, from my last shave to show you, but it's the same each time I shave, which is daily! I don't know what the answer is, but I certainly cannot recommend this product now.

Ok brush but bits still falling off into my soap a month after use . Update this brush has completely cone apart from the handle . TOTAL RUBBISH !!!!!

Produit pas mal, excellent esthétique, bonne souplesse et montage facile. Par contre il perds pas mal de poils et l’odeur est a ce fort et désagréable.

Habe ihn täglich in Gebrauch und bisher hatte sich nur einmal eine einzige Borste gelöst. Handling sehr gut und prima beim Schaumauftragen. Um ein vielfaches besser als günstige Pinsel. Bisher der Beste, den ich je gekauft habe.

This is exactly what I’ve been searching for. My old badger hair brush has seen better days and for the last couple of months I’ve been using a synthetic brush as a stopgap, which definitely wasn’t up to the job. The GRUTTI brush is a perfect replacement. There’s a good weight to the handle, which means that by loosely gripping the very base I can use the weight of the brush to whip up my shaving cream, whereas with a more lightweight brush I’d have to give my wrist a workout every morning. The bristles are pretty dense, and while the brush has shed a small handful in my first few shaves it seems as if it will hold up very well over the long term. Best of all, as the base is flat the brush can be stored standing bristles up. I have limited space around my bathroom cabinet, and I now have the option of getting rid of the fairly large apparatus that suspends my current brush above my shaving bowl. An easy 5 star rating. The price is right and the quality is impressive. You won’t be disappointed.
