GI Joe: Target Snake Eyes
Chuck Dixon's stories for IDW's GI Joe reboot just keep getting better, and Target Snake Eyes is definitely a highlight of the series so far. IDW's GI Joe is nothing like the old cartoon or Marvel comic. It's more serious, violent, and gritty, and this volume especially has some intense action scenes and a high body count, so if you like Brainwave Scanners and Weather Dominators in your GI Joe, you'll be disapointed. But if you're fan of the characters and like military action, then this is a great comic. The series has so far downplayed the ninja aspects. Storm Shadow has played a minor role, and Snake Eyes has not been used much in the main GI Joe series but this story is very ninja centric and seems to resolve the ninja and Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow plots, or at least for the near future. Following the events ofĀ G.I. JOE: Complete Cobra Command Ā Snake Eyes has gone rogue and is now pursued across the globe by GI Joe, Storm Shadow and the Arakishage Clan, and Cobra, and at times the reader will even uncertain as to what Snake Eye's agenda really is. There's also an interesting subplot with Cobra, hinting at future developments in the series. The story is suspenseful and action packed, the dialogue is believable, and the art work is well done.If you haven't already, it would be best to readĀ G.I. Joe: Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow Volume 1 Ā first as this story is a direct continuation of that volume. Unfortunetely, this is also Chuck Dixon's last arc for the main GI Joe series, and the new writer is going in the complete opposite direction of Dixon's more gritty military action, but Dixon will be writing the new GI Joe: Special Missions series.

Just Snake eyes being Snake eyes
It's a good read, a little confusing if you pick it up like I did and don't know what occurred prior to the events unfolding in this edition. It seems that Snake Eyes has gone rogue again and is carrying out his own private war with his BFF Storm Shadow. The Joes for whatever reason, decide to hunt Snake Eyes down, because, this time he's just gone too far. The volume ends with an Epic Ninja showdown and the usual did Storm Shadow die, there's no way they could have lived through that, sort of thing. What did surprise me as an avid viewer of the old cartoon series and reader of the Marvel comic, was how many Joes just died. I mean dead, for real dead and gone. No more 'everybody shoots pretty lights and nobody gets hurt,' this is a much darker and gritter G.I. JOE. That said I would still recommend this graphic novel.

Silent but deadly!
Snake Eyes is my favorite ninja character, always found him interesting. I wanted to check out some of his solo stories and they didn't disappoint. I met Larry Hama a few times and he signed some books for me. Great story and artwork, can't wait to see what's next for my favorite ninja.

Great G.I. Joe comic for adults
I like these IDW comics better than the classic ones from Marvel. It is more for adults.

Dissapointed Joe Fan
I love the GI Joe property and yes, Snake Eyes is a favorite character. The storyline here is rather dull and bland. I feel like it was a rush job to sell a book by pimping out a cool character. I don't "Hate" it...hate is a wasted emotion let alone one required to describe a comic book. Pick it up for fun, but do not expect much.follow me on instagram rolling_steel

Growing up with Joe comics from Larry Hama, this ...
Growing up with Joe comics from Larry Hama, this issue took some departures from the story I grew up with, as a result it just turned me off.

Who is the Hunter and who is the prey
A decent story it continues from Sanke Eyes and Storm shadow. I have to say I did much prefer that title especially for the art work and more of the storyline. This volume ties up most of plot lines left from the last issue. I would have especially like more time given to the battle between Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow as well, (on a side note fight does happen inĀ G.I. JOE: Snake Eyes, Agent of Cobra . I would also have like more time given to the battles in general, there tends to only be one or two panels dedicated to each fight. My favourite parts of this comic were the intense exchanges between the Soft Master and his "captor" Serpentor.Snake Eyes was presumed dead by the JOES, since his activates of infiltrating the Arashikage clan, his activates have brought him to their notice once again the JOEs cannot take the chance someone of Snakes Eyes level could have defected. Now even on their smaller operating budget they manage to put a couple of teams together to eliminate Snake, the Arashikage and Cobra as well. Sanke is one step ahead of everyone else and only he knows whose side he is really on.This is an all-round good book with a good story; it alludes to a very high body count and lots of action much of this is not shown in the book. That was the only failing of the book. G.I. JOE: Snake Eyes, Agent of Cobra

A pleasant surprise. Wonderful art!
I took a chance on this book, as I normally stick to the Hama series, and i'm glad i did. The art blew me away, and storytelling and dialogue are wonderful too. I was impressed enough that I'll be looking for more IDW TPBs when i sort out which storyline is which.
