Surprises await at every corner! 10 stars.
Get this now. I repeat, get this now. You can fill in the holes at a later date, you will find better versions of much of this if you desire. However, you will not regret getting this. I hope to elaborate more on what is contained within at some point- but for now just get this. A box like this will require multiple visits to the editing board for update to the review.(EDIT- 2\20\2016: This set is above and beyond the price tag Brilliant is asking. K. 563, K. 174 abandoned movements, K. 436...Pritchard's 1956 Idomeneo with Simoneau... Just keeps getting better... K.50 Bastien und Bastienne has some amazing melodies! K.580a an adagio that sounds like a precursor for clarinet to k. 581. Speaking of clarinet, in the minuet to symphony 39 the clarinets add a little appoggiatura to the melody. It sounds awesome. To be honest, I knew that I was going to the short on money. I figured I could buy this in order to fill my need to hear Mozart. I mulled over it for a few weeks and finally caved in. I am glad that I did. I'm telling you, if you have any doubts, just buy this. You will be getting your money's worth and more.It is worth it. If one is concerned about the sound quality, don't be. For the most important works you will want multiple versions- this box set serves up many perfect supplement versions of your standard favorites. However, the surprises await in the obscure works-The very first works written by the child being performed on clavichord are insanely beautiful here. I think they are among his most sublime music. Again, to hear it on clavichord is ethereal. The early sonatas as well played on flute just floor me. One thing that is missing- the COMPLETE London sketchbook.Other highlights for me include the concert arias and songs/lieder...they are not complete but absolutely beautiful. It sounds very intimate in my living room. Piano sonatas, ensembles, trios...all the goods without the high price. The early Catholic works are very beautiful.Another reason I bought this is for the early operas. Unsure if they are worth buying at normal price I bought this box to explore them- I am in absolute awe at the beauty and creativity. When that obscure early aria of divine beauty reveals itself you will be content to live in that moment forever. The box is worth it for these early operas as well.K. 621 is comparable to Hogwood and Gardiner in the Period Practice style. The Overture though is conducted with better nuance and feel. Absolutely, as well as K. 588. I like it better than Jacobs, no doubt- however, measures 66 thru 71 of 'Ah guarda, sorella' have the same issue of Karajan's- see my review. The music that you are not necessarily going to shell out 10-20 bucks for but long to listen to are all here.Another missing component- the Amen fugue from K.626My own way of listening- I put it on MP3 and play on shuffle.

Spectacular achievement
The sheer immensity of organizing for compact discs virtually all of Mozart's musicin one collection is staggering. And the sound is great. And the program notes availablefor download on Brilliantclassics.com are superb. I am very pleased that my investmentin this production has been such a joyful experience.

All Mozart, for Less than One Buck Per CD
So far, I am enjoying every minute of this collection. I didn't even think of Mozart as my favorite composer, but he is now. He was certainly in the top ten, do not get me wrong. This collection is a bounty of musical merriment. For less than a buck per CD, you can have his entire output. He died so young, yet he produced so much great music in that brief life.

SLOW delivery, great set
I ordered this on the 1st of the month and rec'd it on the 13th. I don't have prime, regardless that is VERY SLOW SHIPPING.The set itself is fantastic. As pictured, no frills, great music. I've listened to about 7 disks so far, really enjoying the music.

A fine acquisition at a price more than fair...
I must confess that I, too, have historically been a sucker for presentation, booklets, libretti, and other bells and whistles associated with the best boxed sets. Likewise, legendary performances. So why this set, which features none of those things? Because after a lot of years (and cash) I have enough of those treasures. What I did not have (prior to purchasing this set) was the vast majority of Mozart's considerable output. Oh sure, I had multiple iterations of his principal and most popular works, but the unfortunate reality is that the elite artists (and the elite labels for whom they record) rarely venture far from the center of the repertoire. Now enter Brilliant Classics, who (for a modest price) have enabled me to enjoy the full scope of Herr Mozart. What a great boon! Incidentally, I am 95 discs deep in the set and can't think of a single unkind thing to say about the quality of the recording or the competence of the performers. My recommendation of this set is unequivocal.

Wow!
I'd only listened to Mozart in the movie, and decided to take the plunge and pick up this all-inclusive set. Working my way through the 170(!) CDs now as I draw. Awesome and wished I had come across this years back. Several CDs had some minor skips in them. The last one I pulled and looked at the face of the CD and it had a little nick or scratch in it. I doubt that I did that since it went directly from the sleeve into the changer. Nonetheless, I give it five stars. If you like Mozart, you cannot go wrong here, even at the price.

MOZART ROCKS!
This is good stuff. The sound is clear and crisp, and the volume is consistent. Most important of course, it's Mozart, the original heavy metal rock-and-roller. I've listened to all 170 discs and the only stuff I don't look forward to hearing again is the operas, Classical Music's version of Professional Wrestling. The Klavierstucke series, discs 90, 91 and 92 I have marked as 'Different Good' and 'Twisted Avant-garde'. Disc number 58, "Flute Quartets Adagio & Rondo K167 For Glass Harmonia' I have simply marked as 'Hot'. I don't know nothin' 'bout music, but I know what I like, and I highly recommend this collection.

FANTASTIQUE!

Grazie.
