VERIZON - OEM BLACK SHELL CASE BELT CLIP HOLSTER + STAND FOR LG VS980 VS 980

I came from basic phone to LGG2..I was concerned w massive size of smartphones. When i looked at cases i didnt want big but still wanted protection. I read reviews and decided because of around ten dollar price i could use it as a backup w holster if i didnt like it. I also wanted kickstand. After using i very impressed. Easy to use after u get use to ur technique for kickstand and removing phone from holster.(for holster clipped on left side of pants..thumb resting on holster side of case at top..middle 2 fingers on phone side of case at bottom...give little sqeeze and it pops up)..Very secure in holster and clip good quality. Made ingeniously and simply to protect screen from rubbing case. Hard to explain but has a great feel sliding in and out of holster..never have to struggle..w/o holster case is fairly slim, w kickstand, and pretty good protection...except..obviously screen is exposed (which is the same w all slim cases i saw that were drop protective) BUT case does not cover the ends..i have managed somehow get a couple marks on one end..would guess it was prob when ive dropped a couple times out of holster..probably done for holster removal but wished they would come around corner at least 1/2inch more..would have protected the dreaded corner-concrete meetup and would have helped on end drop too. All that said i wont be ordering anything else. This is best all around case for me so i ordered another in case kickstand or something wears out..maybe not the prettiest sitting on a table w holster but looks more interesting than pics show because of geometric design. Oh also charges just fine on my wireless charger out of holster(cant think of brand but one of cheap ones w good reviews) ..used a drill to partly drill a notch in the side of case for lg car mount..works perfect...my phone is Verizon and as far as i know thats the only version of LGG2 this case fits..

The weight of the phone makes it fall over easily when using the stand,but I never use it anyway. I mostly bought it for the holster,the phone only goes in screen first so it's protected and the holster is lined with velour to protect the screen also. The belt clip is strong and it rotates 360,also it firmly click locks into place in several positions..24 locking positions(I just counted).It's nice for certain attire or sitting and kind of makes you look important..lol, Like I said I bought it for the holster( for working where I'm doing alot movement and a big phone in my pocket is just plain uncomfortable. For how strong the clip is and how securely it locks into place,makes me not have to worry about it falling off or sliding. When in the case alone the top and bottom edges are not protected,so I definitely would not want to drop it. That's why only 4 stars

Love this case. Picked it up for $12. The holster configuration is extremely convenient, and so is the stand. The case provides some reassuring protection to the phone's vulnerable edges without adding a lot of bulk. Doesn't obstruct any buttons or ports. I used it in conjunction with this car mount and it fit fine:  Car Mount, Dash Mount or Windshield Mount Holder for iPhone 6S 6 5, Samsung Galaxy S6 S5, Moto Droid Maxx, Droid Turbo and all 4-5 inch Smartphones As you can probably tell from the product images, this is not the most "rugged" shell you can buy. My feeling is that a person who doesn't have the sense to be careful with a $700 piece of electronics is going to find a way to destroy their phone regardless of what case they have. This case provides some protection, and a lot of convenience. I have always bought this design of case for all of my phones because I dislike screen protectors and these cases are extremely protective. This particular design however could be a little better. The lip on the top of the clip is a bit too pronounced so that its difficult to slide the phone out of the holster. I must remove the holster from my pocket and bend it back slightly to get the phone to release. The rigid plastic will very likely stretch a bit with constant use, but in the mean time its a bit too difficult to remove the phone from the holster.Other than this, these holsters are very nice and secure. They offer great protection for your phones screen and they are very light. I don't like cases like the otter-box because they feel too bulky for me and don't physically protect the screen from pressure.

I have been using this case for my last few smart phones. Because there are two parts to the case, even when the phone isn't in the holster it is still protected by the half of the case that is attached to the phone. The case covers the corners of the phone so even if you drop it, it will most likely hit the case and not the phone itself. When the phone is clipped into the holster, the screen is covered so you won't scratch or break the screen on something if you bump in to it. Another thing I like about it is when I don't have a case on my phone it is very slippery and I tend to drop it. The stand comes in handy when you are showing family or friends your pictures or a video you recorded. All in all it is a good case and is a rather small investment to protect your phone.

Good protection but the case has a huge problem........when the case and phone are attached to a belt in the horizontal position the phone can and will slip out of the case attached without warning. This happened to me and I didn't notice until some time had passed. By the time I realized the phone was not in the case it was too late and the phone had been stolen. I had to notify the insurance company. Trust me you do not want to open this can of worms They are quick to take your money but very very slow in getting your claim resolved.Should you choose to purchase and use this case make sure you check that the phone is still attached at all times.
