The Lepro app is terrible, but the bulbs are excellent
When I first purchased this, I almost immediately returned it because it would not connect in the suggested app. It would constantly have device timeout errors. I use Smartlife for some other devices that I have and these will thankfully connect in that app. Other than the initial setup difficulty, the quality of the bulbs is excellent. They're much brighter than my previous smart bulbs, even on the color settings.

Perfect budget option to Phillips Hue LEDs
Honestly I was pleasantly surprised!I’ve had the Phillips Hue before in my last apartment but moved cross country so I sold everything. I didn’t want to spend so much on new Hue lights again, so I opted for these. The colors are beautiful, the brightness is perfect and dimmable if needed. You can program “smart setting” like to turn them all on/off or to a color setting through an app. ALTHOUGH here is where I found some limitation on the software side, it isn’t a Hue when it comes to like scenes or seamless integration into your smart devices. This requires a connection to wifi and then your phone has to be connected to that same wifi in order to operate them (which is alright, my phone always connects at home anyway). So I do miss the seamless automation just a tad. HOWEVER you’re also saving alooooot of money. For the bang for your buck, these bulbs are a no brainer for a budget version of the Hues. Yes you’re not getting all the bells and whistles, but you’re getting the core functions and that’s all I needed. That is the only reason why these are 4 stars and not 5, since the Hues would be the 5.They work well, they look great, and I saved some money. Can’t be angry at that! :)

great for price, automation confusing
Update - really good for the price. Sometimes I have to hit the on/off button twice to get all the lights in a group to turn on. Not that big of a deal. Bulbs have been going strong for 6 months now. If the lights are off and the power goes out in your house and Wi-Fi gets disconnected, all the lights turn on. Not the fault of the lights, but not fun to be woken up in the middle of the night with all the lights on.Not sure how long the bulbs will last, but so far really good. Great control of color and can group lights. App is good but slightly confusing. Still can’t quite figure out the automation (turn on at specific time). Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t, but not sure why. I think it’s user error, but I can’t figure out why.

Quality smart lights, bright and good value, but issues with installation prevent a 5/5 rating
These lights were a marked improvement on the previous LED lights I had ordered, which had to be controlled using one of those old-generation LED remotes. These lights are far brighter, and have much more options for colors and "scenes" as the app calls it, programming these lights can prove difficult for those who are not adept with computers. The lights rely solely on their connection to your local Wi-Fi network, so if you do not have one, do not buy these as they will not work. In addition, the lights are Alexa and Google Home compatible, which is a major plus in my book, you can simply say "Hey Google, lights off", or "turn the lights red", and (if you're lucky) it will respond to your command immediately. However some other consumers have reported issues of latency, which I have experienced myself. Sometimes the lights take up to 30 seconds to respond to commands, they turn off one at a time, or they simply do not work at all; which results in the consumer having to fully reprogram all the lights using the corresponding application. The application itself is glitchy and does not respond to commands that well, as explained earlier. As for the lifespan of these lights, I have had them for nearly 4 months thus far and none of them have "gone out" or stopped working. I have, however, experienced my share in latency and connection issues, which unfortunately results in my three-star rating.

Better experience than Hue
ProsSetup was pretty easy.Brightness exceeds the Philips bulbs I was replacing. They don’t have issues with current where they stay on even when Alexa “turned them off”… which is what happened with the Philips (they were always on, but dimmed… and no it wasn’t a setting. They have colors.Cost is much lower than the aforementioned competitor.Dimmable, but requires a bit of setup in Alexa. Nothing hard though.ConsThe app is rudimentary.Haven’t figured out how to bring “scenes” over into Alexa. Not sure I like that it’s on WiFi on the 2.4 spectrum. I have a lot of devices and it could impact my WiFi access. Liked that Hue used a different wireless protocol.
