Takes the chill off but doesn't replace a 110 volt heating pad.
I was going to return this product and already had the return label printed up. When I plugged it in to a Lithium Ion portable solar charger with three 5 volt ports available the heating pad would turn off in five seconds. I figured the power bank was either sending out too much unregulated current or the heating pad was defective. I then tried a small handheld power bank and the heating pad worked and remained on. It takes a few seconds and on the HIGH setting it may keep your hands warm inside your winter jacket but not much else. While it's warm in my apartment I'll use it under the frog tank because it does add some heat during the cooler nights but it also drains my new portable power bank in less than an hour on the HIGH setting. I think this item is really designed as a portable winter jacket heater and has been re-purposed to sell as an aquarium heater. Despite this I will keep it because I actually need a hand warmer for the winter jacket or my digital SLR when I'm out taking winter scenery photos. The heating pad will fit nicely inside my camera bag.I don't recommend this as a heating pad for your reptile or amphibian tank, instead I'd buy a 110 volt model with a thermostat.

Great travel heating pad for Anoles
We moved across country with 2 Anoles and needed something to keep them warm at night. This pad worked fantastic! We used some duct tape to place it on the bottom of a plastic container, and just plugged it into the cigarette lighter (adapter not included) and they were nice and warm all night, even though the outside temp dropped to 55.

Great product with one drawback
I've been using two of these heaters in my snake tanks for several weeks now and they've been performing perfectly. My only disappointment with them is that when the unit loses power it defaults to "off" rather than a heat setting. It controls its own heat well but can't be run with a thermostat as it will reset to off every time the thermostat clicks off/on. I left my thermostats in so that I can monitor temperatures and they've been very good heat-wise. I really prefer the added security of a quality thermostat for my reptiles though and this incompatibility is this product's only drawback. Hoping the manufacturer offers a similar model without the "off-default" soon because I'd buy a BUNCH of those!

1 Star is too nice
I was very excited to receive this based on the price to provide my gecko with belly heat. IF you can get it to turn on it heats nicely. Not as a substitute for total tank heat. Just heats the area its located. But I couldn't keep it on for longer than 2 minutes at a time. Waste of money and time. Returning it now

My lizards like it, they break easy but wtf ever I just buy more. My animals are more important that the circuit that can short out. This was my second in a year and a half and stuff breaks so yeah it's good. You get you lizard to sit on the heating pad and not your computer or power cables. The when travelling, whoop, you have USB heat when you need it.

Does not get very warm
I purchased this to use for an incubator for my sick sugar glider. I was using my (human) heating pad, but needed one that did not auto-shut off. This pad barley got warm, even on the highest setting. Also, it does not come with a plug end, only the USB end. I had to take apart my cell phone charger to use it to be able to plug this into the wall. I am returning is, as it does not get warm enough for my needs.

Great for power outages
I bought this mainly in case of a power outage. It's small, which is perfect for using with a plastic reptile cage. The first one I was sent was defective, but it was replaced quickly and the second one works perfectly.
