Only for those who believe the Bible and that God is sovereign
So after reading a couple of other reviewers who declared too much God, I had to see for myself. I admit initially it was awkward for me but it was awkward because I am human and like to be in control. HOWEVER, the Bible clearly indicates that God is sovereign...in control of EVERYTHING. So of course, He controls it all...so where does human control come in? If I were a theologian, I could write some thoughtful insightful and perhaps wise response to this, but I am not. I will say that He is in control and the term "free will" is not in the Bible. At all. Hence the conclusion that humans have the ability to choose good without God playing a role is misguided at best. I'll leave it at that. If you don't believe God is sovereign, don't read this and get yourself all frustrated.

Our Nation Has Been Providentially Blessed
Starting with the pilgrims, this book highlights the many ways our nation's history has been influenced by God. An excellent read! Our Sunday School used this as a study book, and greatly enjoyed learning about how blessed we are as a nation.

Great kids' book on American history
My kindergartener loves history and has enjoyed listening to me read this book. It does contain some information that I felt was too graphic for him at this age, so I skipped over those parts. (The book is rated for older kids, so the content is probably appropriate for them.) I've read the original version of the The Light and the Glory which was written for adults and it is also a wonderful book.

Truths that need to be digested
Good quick read to cover the various groups who first settled in America, i.e., in Virginia and then Plymouth and how they lived out or did not live out their Christian principles. Another book to remind us of our Christian heritage in America that others are determined to obliterated from our history
