Scarab Dice: A beautiful shiny dice with a high luster and a swirled oily surface effect. It is part of the Chessex?s Signature Series plastic Dice. Signature dice are a compilation of the best selling colors of new dice released in the past few years. It includes a wide variety of colors and materials, but each is a unique and interesting addition to any dice collection. This set contains one d20, one d12, two d10 (00-90 and 0-9), one d8, one d6, and one d4.

Scarab Blue Blood with Gold
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Mine came without any imperfections. This review is more about the color. The dice are mostly coppery, and the blue is subtle but you can definitely see it in the right lighting. Refer to the video.

Beautiful dice
Not sure what I was thinking--I just decided I wanted a set of gaming dice like I had when I was a kid, back in the D&D days. They're beautiful to look at, fun to use, and a nifty way of generating random number on the fly. I first considered getting one of the big sets of 100 random dice, but then decided I'd rather have one really nice set. These had fabulous reviews on Amazon and I was not disappointed in the slightest. The "Blue Blood w/Gold" color is, as others have noted, a metallic crimson+blue+gold swirl, and totally gorgeous. Not particularly masculine or feminine, or anything other than magical--exactly what I was looking for. I like that there are two 10-sided dice, one with an extra zero on each side for 10s, so that you can quickly generate numbers from 0-99 (or 1-100). It's also fun to share these with kids, younger adults, and general non-gamers, who haven't seen anything like them before. In sum, I'd definitely buy these again, and would return to this brand if I were interested in getting another set.

Beautiful bronze dice
As many reviews stated, these are very bronze dice! My photos are not the best, but in person they look like polished wood with reddish areas and slivers of blue gemstone. I was expecting this from other reviews and photos, and they're absolutely gorgeous. If you want bright blue and red, I recommend kraken regal dragon. Those look more bronze in photos, but are bright red and blue. I have compared them to chessex lustrous gold with silver in my photos. Lustrous gold has bright veins of color, but the sets look very similar together on a gaming table. They coordinate beautifully for a character. There was sticker residue on my box.

More of a Rusty Color, but Still Pretty
While I do like these dice, they are not one of my favorites. The picture gives the impression of a deep, crimson color mixed with some gold and a few blue tones. The set I received appears to be more of a rusty, brown color than anything else. While it's a small thing, it did lead to a slight amount of disappointment. They are still pretty dice, and I noticed no defects on them. Chessex is certainly a brand known for quality. I just wish the actual product had a few more of the blue streaks mixed in, and was as boldly and deeply crimson as the picture shows.P.S. There is no filter on the picture, by the way. The lighting is sunlight on a partly cloudy day. They really are just a rusty brown color...and I really am just that pale.

Very nice
I love how the colors mix and swirl in these dice. At first I didn't understand why they're called "Blue blood with gold" because I didn't notice any blue in them. When I took them into the sunlight I noticed some blue on a few of them, though there isn't a whole lot. I actually like that there isn't too much blue because they look more like lava or fire, which is why I wanted them. They're actually quite dark under low light, so for the best effect you want to play with them under plenty of light (for best results, in direct sunlight). The numbers on these dice are easy to read in any lighting, but are easiest in darker lighting due to increased contrast. I'm especially happy with the four sided die because I can just read what number ends up on top. Overall I'm very happy with these dice and I love their color.

Perfect if you prefer darker or muted dice
The mix of colors are not as contrasting as the Gemini or Lustrous sets, so the grey-blue is not terribly noticeable. I might prefer these dice if the blue was a little more vibrant.I recommend the scarlet Scarab set if you are wanting something more vibrant red.

The dice look nice. Like other reviews say
The dice look nice. Like other reviews say, they are best in well lit areas so you can see all the swirls. The d8 and one of the d10s from my order came with small scrapes/chips on the corners. Barely noticeable with a quick glance over them but still noticeable. I saw similar scrapes on a review for a different set of Chessex dice. I haven't had a chance yet to salt water test them but so far the rolls seem random enough. No complaints other than the scrapes.

5/5 "wood" buy again
I can't be the only weirdo out there who has different dice for different characters right? These are my druid dice. They're gorgeous. The swirls of subtle color looks like a rich stained wood and makes my inner wood elf giggle with glee.
