I got this for my grandbaby who's about 12lbs and 4 mos. We put her in it after I blew it up, but we haven't been able to try in the pool yet. I think I trust it enough to give it a try when it gets hotter! I gave it 5 stars based on what I have been able to try without being in the pool. Hope this helps!

Much smaller than expected. After I try it with my grandson, I’ll update. Here’s my update:I took the rating down to 2 stars because it is REALLY EASY for my 10 month old grandson to lean forward and flip this little float. I cannot depend on it for even a second. So I purchased one that was larger in circumference and taller. I will not ever leave him unattended, but risking a flip-over was just too great.I will say that if you’re willing to live with the risk, it is cute and the plastic is heavy duty and well made.

I searched for a lot of different models to find one that my one year old would feel comfortable. I’m glad with this one, but there’s only one thing I would like to highlight in here. When my child is on it and I start to swim with him, his body goes easily to the front and he can easily drink some water. Just beware with that.

Bought it in March thinking we might go swimming at an indoor pool, but didn’t use until June. Was easy to blow up, but by the time we walked from the chairs to the pool, I could tell it loss air. I put more air in it and waited. I was not about to put my baby in it if it was going to deflate. Sure enough, it went flat again. We didn’t even get one use out of it.
