Awesome Little Book.
A Great little book, with something like only 16 pages in it, it does a Great job getting to the point and explaining a little on reconciling Calvinism and Arminianism. A Great Little Read which I have been looking for a book like this for a very long time.

Excellent Customer Service
We ordered this book, plus 2 others by Chuck Smith. They all came from the same vendor who carefully packaged them, included some additional information relative to the author. Everything was clean, in excellent condition and 'buttoned up.' We hope to order from them again. Have already read this very brief 'perspective' and were encouraged by it. A very fair treatment of this topic.

“Election” vs Free Will simply explained
A short pamphlet that gets to the root of the question of “election”Simply put those who didn’t think people had enough good in them to ask to be saved had to be chosen by God -these people are the CalvinistsThose who though we were sinful but had just enough good in us to choose to be saved are the ArminiansIt was simply a question of how total our fallen sinful condition isIf you thought we were so lacking of any good then you were a CalvinistIf you thought we had free will to choose food you were Arminian

Chuck Smith - a Conundrum
First, about this booklet. Chuck Smith wants to avoid this controversy and take some kind of middle position. But at the end of the booklet he profoundly shows that he is an Arminian, which is heresy. If you listen to Chuck's audio messages, he will defend God's choice in salvation! But then, at other times, he denies predestination unto salvation (see youtube's video where Chuck speaks on Calvinism). Chuck takes the "foreseen faith" position which is indefensible Scripturally. Man is at God's mercy for salvation...even to believe the Gospel requires first God's action upon a sinner before he can hear, repent and believe (See Ezekiel 37).The bottom line is that this little booklet only is good for those who want to know Chuck's own view.Christ died for His elect. Only. God chooses in salvation, according to His will, not ours. If it was not for God's election and regeneration, NOBODY would be saved. The most hated of all Biblical doctrines is NOT the deity of Christ, it is predestination unto salvation, and God's mercy and grace alone (not faith--which is a gift of God to His elect). You want persecution? Defend these doctrines!

A great balance
A great, easy read with the difference between Calvanism and Arminianism and what the Word of God says.If there is anything that I would say against this book, it is that it is a bit brief. It is very much a "booklet" and doesn't take more than 10-15 minutes to read.

Not what I expected.
I thought that it was a full blown book regarding this subject. Instead, it is a small 6 to 8 booklet containing the positions of Chuck Smith's church about this subject. I was fooled by the price thinking it to be a great offer. Still, it is interesting to know what this church's position is with respect to this two major theological schools of thought.
