I ordered Ethiopian Yrgacheffe.
I ordered the Ethiopian Yrgacheffe.I love coffee. I'm a coffee snob. I love trying different types of coffee. While I do like "bad coffee" better than "no coffee", the truth is that most coffees I try are barely passable. I typically keep a large container of beans in my kitchen that I like to call my "home brew". These are all of the beans I don't like as much, and they tend to be my daily blend. These beans did not go into the home brew.I have a lot of "regular" coffees that I like. I like most of them because they taste good even when they are slightly stale. The way I see it, coffee through three stages as it ages. The first stage is the fresh stage. With coffee, freshness adds a distinctive flavor. That flavor is what makes coffee awesome, but unfortunately, most people never experience it because this first stage only lasts a week (or two at most). The second stage is what I like to call the shelf stage. This is the stage where the coffee has lost its fresh flavor, but it hasn't begun to taste "bad" yet. A person can typically get a month or two out of coffee beans while they remain in this stage. The third stage is the cardboard stage. Most commercial coffee is in this stage when it is sold. After a month or two, coffee starts to get a distinctive stale flavor. This flavor is very similar to the flavor of over-extraction.I think this stuff is going to be my new regular go-to bean. When I got it, it was still in the fresh stage. And it was two weeks before it lost that awesome fresh flavor.I love Ethiopian Yrgacheffe coffee. Experts tell me it is the floral hints that really drive me crazy about it. When I drink fresh Yrgacheffe, I get a similar sensation to that feeling you get when you're eating fresh baked bread and can still almost taste the yeast. The "floral" undertones taste more earthy to me, and I love the rich, almost yeast-like quality to the way the flavor almost effervesces through my sinus cavities while drinking it. I think it's safe to say that Ethiopian Yrgacheffe coffee is not only my favorite single-origin bean, but it's also my favorite blend.I have never tasted an Ethiopian Yrgacheffe better than this. This stuff was so fresh, I just wanted to sit and smell it for hours when I first opened it. I want my whole house, my car, and my office to smell like that all the time. I want it to smell like that outside. I want it to smell like that everywhere I go. The grind smelled wonder. The brew smelled even better.I typically use a drip method of brewing with a wire mesh filter. I use this method because it works with a single-cup brewing system like Keurig. I will use a french press if I intend to have more than one cup, but the fact is, I rarely "intend" to have more than one cup unless I have company. The first day I tried this, I couldn't stop drinking it. I had three cups by 6:30 AM. I lost count after that. On day two, I elected to drink some of my home brew instead so that this stuff would last more than a week.I won't say that this is the best coffee I have ever tasted. i will say, though, that it's the best coffee I can remember ever having tasted. And I just found out that they have a higher grade than the bean I ordered. Yup, I'll be back for more.

Ethiopian Junk
As a coffee freak, I have consumed nothing but East African whole bean coffee for over four decades.I have ordered the Kenyan coffee numerous times from many different vendors. The quality of the cofee varies significantly not only by vendor, but by shipment as well. As a result, coffee reviews must be specific to the shipment received because it may not be reflective of prior shipments, future shipments or the vendor.I have had the following four coffees from Rhoads Roast: Kenya AA Karundul Finest Auction, Tanzanian Peaberry, Kenyan Peaberry Plus Rwaikambu Coop Ngutu and the just arrived Ethiopian YirgacheffeThe Kenyan AA Karundul was no better than ok, the Tanzanian Peaberry was no better than ok, the Kenyan Peaberry Plus Rwaikambu Coop Ngutu was excellent and the just tasted Ethiopian Yirgacheffe was awful. Have had the same excellent experience with the Rwaikambu in the last three shipments.Poured the Yirgacheffe down the drain after one sip. It was not drinkable. Had to wash the coffee machine multiple times to remove the offensive odor and bad taste. I did not order over roasted coffee, but the beans were burnt. The description said medium roast which was not accurate. As a result, there was no way to tell what I was even drinking. It tasted like cheap Robusta. In other words, I have no idea what it would taste like if properly roasted. East African beans demand light roasting. Each variety has a sweet roasting spot. However, a dark roast destroys the many myriads of aromas and flavors that make coffee special. Because a dark roast destroys the unique flavor, it is easy to duplicate, regardless of quality. A dark roast also masks defects, which is why it is often used for low quality beans.Returning the Ethiopian today for a refund and ordering more Kenyan Peaberry Plus Rwaikambu Coop Ngutu, my go to coffee. Would like to try their Malawi, but no more experimenting with Rhoads. Learned my lesson again. Stick with what works.

Not fresh at all last time.
I was buying from this seller here through the whole year 2016, and couple of times I got really fresh beans - they were still oily. Most of the times it was not oily but still really fresh. Last time I got beans that smell, look and taste like roasted a month ago! I can tell because I always have leftovers from packages and I see how they change through the time. That's definitely not what I ordered. I doubt I will be ordering from them anymore. I just don't like lottery games.

Delightfully Delicious!
Wow! I'd forgotten how good coffee can be until I ordered from RhoadsRoast! The Papua New Guinea Kimel Peaberry was perfectly roasted, delightfully fresh and has a flavor unlike any other. Cannot wait to try others. I have a superauto espresso machine, so the beans are ground just before brewing. I'll be trying the Ethiopean Yirgacheffe next. Meanwhile I'm savoring every drop of this wonderful coffee. Thank you, RhoadsRoast!

for coffee cravings
This is delicious. The smell is die for it. The medium roast is just right for the beans. It enhances the aroma and taste of the coffee. I enjoyed drinking this one. Just before brewing, I grind the coffee with a manual grinder. I prefer brewing with a French press. The result is wonderful. It is fulfilling even for a non coffee drinker. My husband is a tea drinker and usually distastes for coffee. He asked me to have a cup of this coffee.

It's OK.
I typically prefer African source coffee, but based on some reviews here, I thought I'd give this a try. Not bad, but nothing to write home about.

RhoadsRoast, Ltd is the only place I buy my coffee from. Always roasted well and shipped quickly. Use the natural flavor from different regions, climates and altitudes to pique your tastebuds, not old cofee beans flavored with chemicals that use propylene glycol as their carrier. You can choose but as for me and my household we choose the Lord...and fresh roasted coffee beans.

Three Stars
Acidity was too high for my taste. Big citrus flavor, lacks the chocolate tones of other Guatemalan coffees.
