Excellent non-damaging magnet, if a little on the largish side.
I own some nice strong circular magnets, but as they aren't available anymore - off to Amazon! If memory serves, this particular style of magnet comes in different sizes, but I think one can only get the 2x6" and 4x6" on Amazon. I have purchased both sizes and have had great luck with both. They hold up well, and the "rear" of the magnet is RAISED (sticks out) so there is no risk of metal-scraping-metal and damage to your surfaces.Aside from it's largish 4x6" footprint (my non-existent magnet is about 3.5" round) it does a VERY good job holding up heavy items. The only downside is that this item appears to have been designed to hold wires/picture-frames - the "hook" is quite small and pressed flat against it's surface. I might say that it is.. ..possible.. ..to take a flat object and Carefully "bend out" the metal hook to increase it's available size. Bending the metal will probably void any warranties, but it is an option. Another option is rig up a "loop" (rubber band, twist tie, rope, etc) and place that on the hook, then use the "loop' to attach larger items. Ex: I was prepping for a potential Xmas Wreath, and I found that rigging a "loop" would work for the wreath, but when trying to hang a coat, it was easier to, uhm, "bend" out the hook. But using care to A) not break off the hook, B) not damage the front of the magnet, not bend things out too far.

They work
I work in a cubicle and have always struggled to find a way to hang framed items or plaques on the metal walls. These are the best way I have found and to me worth the money. My only complaint was they were not compatible with the backs of all my things and I had to "make do" with a few things or use Velcro grip tape squares. The top of it shows on a few things but I am so happy the things are hanging I don't care. The magnet did not work as well through fabric covered walls with my heaviest items so they slid down the wall. (even though they weighed far less the specified weight) I just moved those items to the areas the magnets were strongest (bare metal) and it worked out fine.

Made it work
I used this to hook my electronic weather station on the fridge. I had to get creative with a paper clip to make the hook work.

Work well - hold heavy frames
These do hold frames better than you would think they would - they haven't slipped yet. We have one holding a 5 pounds frame. However, the top of the grey magnet shows because we had no wire in the middle of the frame - the hook is on the top of the frame. Because the product is large, a little bit of grey shows. Not the worse thing in an office setting - but it didn't look very neat in our conference room.

Holding strong
Awesome for what I needed. Might look at painting it in the future.

Strong Magnet, however will not work for my application (wire, saw tooth, nor key hole)
Description inferred this item could be used for Hangers / Hooks ("Catalog Publishing Type - Hangers/Hooks-Hangers"). The item I was trying to hang had two options (8x10 certificate frame).. wire and saw tooth. Neither of which will work with this item. Saw tooth hanger on my picture frame will not hang on the hook because it is too thick, the wire is also too thick to slip behind the hook. The frame was a standard 8x10 certificate holder with a 1" border that can be found at your local office supply store. I also attempted insert the hook into a keyhole mount of a different frame and was not successful for the same reasons the wire and sawtooth ... space between the hook and the magnet is simply too tight.

Best for hanging pictures but price far too high now
Ordered two of these a couple of months ago. They work beautifully, but I can't imagine having paid $20+ for each! I could use another dozen, but they're way more expensive than my original purchase, so I'll have to hold off for awhile in the hope that the price will come down...
