Designers Impressions Kain Design Contemporary Polished Chrome Dummy Euro Door Lever Hardware (Non- Functioning)

Wow! Just gorgeous, I look at these chrome beauties in passing and smile every time. Bought one brushed nickel one to compare, but it had flaws including the brushing's being haphazard. The chrome ones are just awesome, smooth action, well-designed and manufactured, and a bargain!! I bought $100 German-designed door levers for the master suite, pantry and guest bathroom, but I have to say I like these better in many ways. The rose on these babies slips on perfectly, always flush with the door, everything's easy. OH, except one thing. I recommend getting replacement #8 3/4" flat-head screws instead of using the included ones whose screws have narrower threading toward the head. I stripped a couple of attachments to my power screwdriver because of them and they were not easy to screw in even with the power or by hand. With the new screws, ahhhhh, no problem. Badabing. FYI: privacy button is right in the center under the handle and is also pretty. Unlock by pressing with an allen key or some skinny thing.

Beautiful hardware for the price. My contractor was quite impressed with the quality and functionality of the product. He just did another job where the owner spent hundreds of dollars on similar products. He told me, "too bad you did not find the handles sooner. I could have suggested the product to the the previous job." They have been installed for almost two years and still holding strong and pretty. Money well spent.

This item was pretty easy to install as long as you've installed some of these before. The inside handle has a cap you take off, once you figure that out, it's easy. Works well and looks great. I was considering spending $80 on a similar one and I'm glad they were on back order otherwise I might not have bought this one. I thought I was taking a chance due to some of the comments but I can't see what they're talking about. I don't usually review so for me to do this, the price and ease of the product versus the alternatives out there represents a great value others should be confident to get.

Feels more expensive than it costs, due to its heavy weight and polished finish. This was my first lock I ever installed and I found it manageable by using the included instructions, tool and screws. It took me awhile only because the cap that covers the tightening screws was on so tight that it took some effort to pry the cap off without scratching the finish. But the end result is worth it because there are no visible screws to spoil the clean look. Fits nicely in my 1-3/8" door. Eyeballed it (instead of using a lever) to adjust and level the handles and it looks great - clean, stylish, contemporary elegance. Feels good in the hand and solid. Was impressed enough to repurchase it and replace all my other door handles. Took off 1 star due to the difficulty of removing the cap covering the screws and because the finish on the handles appears to have a slight indentation.

I was excited about purchasing these doorknobs as I like the contemporary look of it. Once I received it I begin to install them and I soon realized the handles will not work in sync. There was playroom in the inside mechanics. Another complaint is with the privacy doors, the only thing holding the knob from turning is a piece of plastic, therefore if you just put a little pressure on the handle it unlocks and opens immediately.

I am old American made Baldwin Brass solid metal lever kind of guy but don't have that kind of budget on this project. Tried this Kain Euro Lever and a Modernus Lever also sold on this site. This handle is much smaller. The Modernus tube is 5.25" L x .75" Dia. while this Kain is 4.75" L x .56" Dia. The Kain, which is currently nearly half the price, was my choice since this is a smaller unit with tighter spaces and portals. There are comments here regarding installation problems. While I am not a full time door installer, I have inserted a few hundred in my time and this unit was nominal to install. The first time out, the levers were not level and did hot spring back horizontal every time. All that took was loosening the screws and getting everything lined up right. Every subsequent unit was dead on the first time, no problems. Upon super close inspection there are a few flaws visible under the plating and a sharp edge on the end of one lever that could be polished off but for the price these are VASTLY beefier real metal than that hollow tinny stamped stuff being sold at the home store. I would be proud to use these on any project.

Didn't expect to like them this much, truly a great product for such a nice price. They're HEAVY and have a sturdy quality look to them. The only downside is the installation. The instructions included in the box are garbage, I had to read other reviews to figure out how to install but once you do, it takes 3-5 minutes max to change 1 set. **you have to prop off the outter chrome plating with a flathead screwdriver!**
