These are a handy tool and easy to use for quickly setting up heights on a table saw or depths on a router. Can also be used to check depths when the cut is done for consistency.

Decent price, soft material.
Stamped out of aluminum, so rather flimsy and chinks easily.. But otherwise usable

terribly milled from poor grade aluminum
I was really disappointed with this gauge. The machined aluminum isn't milled straight and is at about a 45 degree angle. So when you go to lay it flat on your table saw/ router table its leans. So I had to sand down the bottom lips on all the sizes to lay flat. It works nicely now but it took alot of filing and sanding to get thick shimstock aluminum to be flush. Spend some extra cash and buy the kreg gauges

Empire Router and Table Saw Depth Gauges
These work just fine. A few small glitches though, but all combined, only just enough to warrant removing one star. First, the edge that rests against the worktable or base plate of your router or table saw is not perfectly flat, It is ever so lightly beveled, so it is difficult to lay it flat. I'd file it flat, but that would change the measurements of all the "steps" on either gauge by miniscule fractions of an inch, thereby defeating the purpose of these to begin with. Second, it is made out of stamped aluminum. Nevertheless, I checked them with a digital caliper and all the steps were either right on, or within 1/128" - close enough for this novice woodworker. Should I ever get good at wood work and require more precision, then I'll consider getting a better gauge. If these were made of stainless steel and more precision ground, they'd be a first rate tool. Of all the Empire tools I own, this seemed to be the least "quality", but it still works just fine for now.

Should work fine
Delivered quickly. Great price. Looks like it should last a long time. I bought this to aid in "dialing" in my saw when I set it up. I won't begin to guess how accurate it is. As long as it gets me close on the first cut, I can adjust it from there. It should certainly do better than holding my tape measure on end while adjusting the saw. I will write more later if I find it does not meet my criteria.
