iStarUSA Group Kit with Sea Black Bezel Case (D-300SEA-BK)

I purchased this to transfer my recording studio PC tower to a rack mount. Not a lot of assembly to the case is required. Comes with standard hardware and stand offs.Pros:*Sturdy construction.*Front doors are nice and keep the switches and bays covered.*Accessible permanent spring loaded thumb screw on the rear of the case holding the cover on (nice feature since I am prone to losing case screws).*Sensible layout.*Looks nice.Usually I am not to concerned with how rack mounted equipment looks but in this case it's kind of nice.Cons:*HEAVY! Maybe not such a con really since it feels durable but pending on the rack this will be mounted to you may want to consider additional support.*Interior space and clearance is minimal. If you have larger video cards you may run into issues. There is a support bar across the top where this really can be a problem. (Though, in the PRO column add that they did add another set of mounting holes to move it or you could get rid of it all together if you're not concerned about it.) Also, with a standard ATX board there is minimal gap between the board and where the hard drives are set to be mounted. Makes getting power and data connections a bit of a hassle.

Great case, overall decent construction. I dinged it one star as the doors fit could be a bit better, they stick some. My review is mostly to advise people that this case pretty much requires the purchase of the iStarUSA power supply. A standard PC power supply won't fit in the case. There may be other manufacturers that make rack mount power supplies, but I ended up buying the one recommended on the iStarUSA website. Be aware, you will pay quite a bit more.

This case is well worth the money. Very easy to work with, and designed very well.

This item is nothing but a case. I transferred the innards of an old (but working) desktop PC into this. It took a full day to do this (lots of connectors, add-on boards, etc.). And when I was done, it worked! Other reviewers have noted correctly that normal PC power supplies don't fit in this case.
