Let the testing begin
For those wanting to know, the tad in the hat does say made in China. That being said: Just received this hat. The color (Chino) is true to the product description. The shell of the hat is a polyester type with stitching that appears to be solid. The brim is wide and stiff as advertised. The brim is in a "Safari" style, meaning the back is down-turned, as is the front. - For anyone desiring to change this so the back brim is flipped up, I suspect the generous use of steam (from distilled water) would be required. - The hat band is actual leather. The interior of the hat is lined with a polyester "satin" material. The fit (XLrg) is good. Very light weight; comparable to a straw hat of similar size. Being the rainy season, will not be long before finding out how water repellant it actually is. (I assume the hat may require application of a water repellant coating on occasion.) Got this hat for occasions where a dress oriented hat is needed, as opposed to an oilskin hat. Have had Bailey hats before that have worn well. Will find out how this one fares.

Broad brim
The hat looks great, fits very well. My only complaint is the Brim is a little to wide. The hat is very stiff, that's good and bad but mostly good.I wear the hat casual. Overall I like it but the brim is a little too big. It's great for Sun protection.

Elegant, stiff but light hat
Fit - The Large fits my 23" head well. Not too tight, but secure. Feels light on the head, hardly know it's there. The brim size is wide enough for sun and rain protection.Construction - Although very light, the hat is well built with a sweat band and lining inside. Surprisingly stiff pre-formed brim with fabric sewn to a hidden plastic sheet. I doubt the brim can be easily molded or changed. But that's OK since it's a good look already. The crown is stiff and holds it's shape well for such a light fabric. Had a couple of small creases from shipping. A quick shot of steam removed creases and crown went back to original shape. The description claims water resistant and water beads off the fabric, but haven't had it in the rain yet. Nor has it been in the hot sun, but given it's light fabric it should be good.Style - This hat's style and stiff fabric make it quite elegant compared with other safari or adventure hats. It can be worn with either fancy clothes or for a hike. Keep in mind, this isn't a crushable or packable hat. Don't expect to carry it in a back pack or suitcase. Perhaps that's why it looks nicer than a Tilley or other packable design.Overall - Been wearing this hat for two weeks and really like it. Feels good in the Colorado springtime with sunny temparatures just above freezing, up into the 60s. Looking forward to testing this hat in the hot summer sun.

Great hat; looks awesome.
Every stitch in this hat is right on. I was surprised by the quality. Color is just as pictured. I haven’t tried it in the rain yet, but I wouldn’t wash it. Maybe spot cleanable. Great texture; looks like a more expensive hat. Really good quality. The medium seemed to be at more of a 7 1/4 instead of 7 1/8. It was very loose on my small head, but some hat adjustment tape did the trick.
