The kit doesn't have the chain with pull ring as shown in the photo. I already had a gate latch, but bought the product just to get chain. Oh well.

I replaced an ill fitting (due to fence post shifting) home made wooden gate by surface mounting a metal one. I was stymied with regard to mounting a workable latch- you can find anything on Amazon. This allowed me to close the gate against the fence instead of between the posts. The latch pull in the picture is not included! I bought one of those too and it works so much better than the string and washer I had used.

Mine didn't come with pull chain but it works great, is super sturdy.

BEWARE... The gate latch does not come with ring on chain opener. The latch itself it decent so I will use it.

I'd say this is a medium plus quality for a decent & secure 'out swing' gate latch. It is solid & fairly heavy. Mechanism works smoothly. Screws of good quality.
