Great quality
I am very happy with this level. The magnets are very strong. The laser works great. It is great for pipe fitting. I use it every day at work. I recommend it to anybody in the field of plumbing or pipe fitting.

It is a single Beam unit.
I admit this is my misinterpretation of the information presented about the product. Because I was looking of this type of level with the addition beams 90 degrees to the straight beam in my search for a level, then I saw the 3G and the price and assumed it had the additional beams. It does not it only has the one laser beam. The multiple beam unit like the Bosh GPL3T are very handy for pipe welding fabrication, and I assume many other fabrication projects that are relative small in size like 20' by 20'.

GOOD DEAL
I recently invested in this Laser Level! I am pleased with it craftsmanship. Even though, Green Lee makes a similar version and smaller than this Checkpoint. It is more expensive though. But, it is made in America. I do not regret my investment.Wolf

Loose magnets; fragile laser
I bought this level twice, and did a return / exchange on the second purchase. So far on the three levels that I have used, I have had one magnet come out on each. Tried to glue the magnets back, but this threw off the accuracy of the level. I am an electrician and will pull the level off a pipe to find a magnet still on the pipe. The laser function of the level is also extremely fragile. The level fell from my back pocket and now the laser is inoperable. The laser is a nifty tool for laying out hangers and racks, but hard to maintain in day to day use in the construction field. Magnet issue is an automatic 0 star in my opinion and laser works great, until dropped. s/n I take very good care of my tools (better than most), and took extra precaution with these levels.

Looked good.
After purchasing I was initially very happy with the level. Everything worked right out of the package. Upon first use of the level however, I discovered that neither side will allow you to make a straight line. The top has a bevel to it and the bottom has a notch. After about a month of light use, one of the magnets fell out and about a week later another one fell out. Now it won't hold onto anything because the last two magnets are not strong enough. And now the laser stopped working. For being only 2 months old it really sucks. Waste of my $50.

The laser needs some steroids.
As far as the craftsmanship, build, and machine work, this level is professionally done. I used to have the non G3 version and can say the lines are cleaner and better executed. The addition of the round centering bubble on the top is a nice improvement also. The main complaint I have about this level is the weakness of the laser. It says like a 1/4" accuracy at 100 feet. No way can I see that red dot at that distance. The laser is just plain weak, good luck seeing it at anything past 30 ft. outside. So unless you work in a dark environment then you will have to get creative to locate your dot. For this kind of money I cannot understand the lack of a better laser. I can buy a cheap laser pointer at the cash register of my local gas station that emits twice this distance with better clarity. This is the second Checkpoint laser level I have owned and they have both let me down with the laser quality.
