My Dyson Animal V6 (DC59 I believe) was working for a couple of minutes then cutting out so I'd have to put it on charge again and could only hoover a little bit at a time. I called Dyson and they said I needed a new battery and they could send me one at the cost of £65! So I decided to have a look on here.I looked at several different ones and noticed that some actually had a higher output than the original Dyson battery and the reviews from customers were really good.Most reviews were from sellers that had a lot of purchases, and they were around £35, this seller was cheaper at £30 but only had 1 review at the time I purchased it. I thought I'd give them a go then write a fair review when I'd used it.I'm so glad I did! There is a choice of 2 colours, grey (the same as the original Dyson battery) and a red one. I ordered the red one as I thought it would match the red bits on the vaccum cleaner but when it arrived it was more of a burgundy colour. This doesn't matter as it doesn't affect the performance, and the vaccum is hidden away when not in use.When it arrived I put it straight on, it literally took 2 minutes to replace!There are two screws to undo, one on the outside of the handle and the other is on the inside of the handle (I've pointed these out in my photos) you'll need to pop off the bin (push red bin open button twice and it'll come away) I find this easier if I remove the attachments, in my case it's usually the long tube with the rotating brush on the end. Once the screws are removed the original battery will come away, pop new battery in and screw both screws up again and you're done. I used the original screws as the ones that came with the battery looked a bit small, I've kept them just in case though.I used it straight away without charging it and I did my whole 1 bed flat and it was still going strong. I have fallen back in love with my Dyson again!!It works better than it ever did before, sucks up debris close to the skirting boards and around furniture and picks up bigger bits (like cat biscuits!!) when it used to spit them back out or not suck them up at all.I got twice as much sucked up than I usually do, even before the battery became faulty. I was having problems with pet hair still being around after hoovering, now I'm confident this will be much less as it filled 2 whole bins rather than the one it usually does.I noticed on other sellers reviews some people said they had problems with it clicking into the docking station easily, this one doesn't give me this problem, it's absolutely identical and fits perfectly when putting it back on charge.I ordered this Friday afternoon and it was delivered Saturday lunchtime with Amazon Prime.I can definitely recommend this product, it is exactly the same physically as the Dyson one yet it has more power so lasts longer than the original Dyson one.If anything changes then I'll edit my review accordingly, but at the moment I'm one very happy customer.I have purchased this product and have not been offered anything for my review, it is a genuine review.If you have found my review helpful, please give it a little click below, thank you :)

Only just got it so can’t really comment on the reliability but the power feels great. Yes it’s red but who really cares. This was £12.99 compared to £30+. So it’s perfect. Over the moon. Tempted to buy another

Yeah it's an odd colour - but it's restored our Dyson to its former glory. 20 mins plus runtime etcI can't comment on longevity at this stage but so far the experience has been entirely positive

Light is flashing red indicating overheat. Won’t accept return unless I pay postage. Waste of money and dangerous

Had this for 9 months and now battery only last a few minutes. Not a heavy user but its always kept plugged in ready to go. Initially great but not as durable as the original was.

Works well, renewed my Animal. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is the alignment of the charging plug is slightly off compared to the original, so when charging on the self-supporting base, the device needs a good "tug" to unlock. I used the original screws, not the screws supplied with the new battery.

Super easy to install and compatible with my dyson v6. I had a new battery from dyson which only lasted 9 months so decided to give another brand a go. It's been 2 months and it is going well and at a fraction of the cost.

I got this for 6.99£ I don't know whose mistake was it but I got a working vacuum again thanks :)It is a good replacement, it sucks now which is a good thing. I will come back how long it lasted looks good for now. And it's not red more like a burgundy color but who cares for the price.
