Work arounds for three shortcomings
I installed and tested the Street Guardian SG9665GC v2 2016 edition dashcam in my 2015 Honda Accord. So far I'm pleased with the results, except for three things:1) The cord for the GPS is not long enough to reach the dash from the camera. I had to buy a separate extension. The 3.5mm audio female/female connector made the cord a little awkward to hide.2) In the Accord if you install the camera near the top of the windshield, there isn't enough space for the supplied USB and GPS straight-in plugs. To resolve this, I replaced them with right angle cables https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00LM0U8I6 and https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00F2GR2H6.3) Something that I never came across in the many reviews I read is the problem of reflections in the lens (search on "dashcam glare"). To be clear, this problem is common to most dashcams. However for a top of the line product like this, it shouldn't be necessary to buy an additional $40 lens to get the kind of video they claim it produces. If you're interested you can see the lens here https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01800HH0M. According to the reviews it clears up most (but not all) the problem. I have not yet purchased it.Most of the reflections come from the dash, so a work-around solution is to insert something at the bottom of the lens to shield it from reflections coming from beneath (see photo). I cut a piece from an old mouse pad. It's a big improvement. One other thing: don't waste your money buying the 64GB card with the dashcam. Use the extra $10 toward a card that is specifically made for dashcams. The supplied card is fast enough but it is not made to hold up under the conditions of constant rewrites that this card is subject to (a 64GB card in this dashcam cycles every eight hours).High endurance cards are made specifially to stand up under this use and will last for thousands of cycles https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01BDKTQY6 and https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01BDKTRAE

Saved my butt!
The media could not be loaded. I've had this for almost a year now. I LOVE IT!!!Had an accident that would have been difficult to prove wasn't my fault if we had to go to court. But with the video clip, I just sent that to my insurance and they paid me, then went after the woman who hit me.In SoCal the temp changes can be crazy, but this dashcam hasn't even blinked.

Not a Good Value, and Troublesome
My previous Dash-cam quit working, so I have recently purchased two new Dash-cams with GPS, for evaluation purposes. I am on the road 300-400 miles daily and for liability purpose, need a dash-cam that can accurately capture license plate numbers of moving vehicles, in the event of an incident. I first bought the new VAVA model, which cost $99, including GPS. Recording at 1080p 60fps, it records video at a bitrate of about 17mbps. I thought the video was Good, but not as good as the several Mobius Action Cams that I have been using as secondary cams. Mobius does not have a GPS option, which I need, but the video detail is excellent, and always captures the license plates! Not overly impressed with the VAVA, I then ordered this Street Guardian SGGCX2PRO model, at $199, including GPS.One would think that at twice the price, you would get substantially better video quality. And even though the video recording bitrate for 1080p @60fps is higher; about 20mbps, the viewable video quality is only marginally better. And as you can see in the two captures, just barely better! Certainly not worth twice the price.4/6/2019 .. update: dropping my rating to one-star. I just spent the last 1-1/2 hours attempting to update the firmware from v 1.17 to v 1.20, with No Luck! Followed the directions exactly, trying 3 different cards (all of them worked in the cam). No at all happy with the video quality which to me, is paramount.4/8/2019 ..update: I was informed by an associate of Street Guardian that I should adjust my video recording from 1080p60fps, to 1080p30fps for better results, and that they are currently working on a "firmware upgrade" that should improve 60fps recording. -- Nevermind the fact that this camera is advertised to record 1080p @ 60fps! Which it does, but not with impressive results.. which kind of defeats the purpose. Why sell the product under shaky pretenses?I will no doubt return this cam, and keep the $99 VAVA model which performs quite nicely for the price.4/7/2019 ...update: Firmware issue resolved. Turns out that this is a Pro+ model, even though is not listed as such. It just does not include the optional rear camera. So, I had downloaded the wrong firmware update! When you check your current firmware version in the cam menu, write down the entire description. If it has a + in it, then it is the + Model. Also, to update: unplug the GPS and Power cables from the cam, insert the memory card with the .bin file only, and then plug the power back in... only then will it update.

Installation very easy, installed in a Hyundai 2016 Elantra
Installation very easy, installed in a Hyundai 2016 Elantra. Picture quality is excellent and has a host of features in two menu's which are easy to navigate and set. Play back on Quick time or the registry viewer software from Street Guardians website provided great picture quality and reliability. On the downside: The on line manual doesn't provide enough detail on the operating features, spent a lot of time on the internet locating information which should have been in the manual. If using the GPS you will have to search for your GPS time zone off set on line also, i found quite a lot of people asking the same questions in forms that i was looking for. All in all I'm quite happy with the picture quality, ease of use and installation and the inside recording mic, its extremely sensitive, make sure you turn it off for private conversations.

I Can See Clearly Now
The dash cam market seems to be awash with units that are inexpensive, so why pay for a premium system. In this case the value is in the images. The overall quality of the picture/movie is the key value here. This dashcam, after trying several others is worth every penny and the support from the seller and manufacturer is excellent..

Satisfied
Used this unit for a few weeks now in Canadian cold. No issues there. Installation/accessories kit is very comprehensive. There is one third-party video on Youtube for what to do with the install kit. It's a must-watch.Performance: Image quality is very good - the main reason I purchased this model. On-board audio quality is typical - not great, but adequate enough for documenting traffic incidents. I would purchase this model again. Shipping from Street Guardian was blazing fast.

I tried another before buying this little marvel and can safely say it is worth every penny. A fine little device that lives up to it's reputation.
