Think about this before you commit
This is a beautiful sink and looks fantastic in my kitchen (with leathered black pearl counters and a Grohe single handle faucet and soap dispenser) BUT: If you are a big cook and love your double sink; spend a good bit of time thinking about this: this sink came reco'd to me by a kitchen designer; it was not something I had seen before and I loved the built in dish drainboard. I researched constantly to get opinions on this and overwhelmingly, people seem to like the larger single sink-except me!! I always had a double sink and miss it terribly. It has to do with preference but the way I like to work is I rinse or throw disposal stuff in one side while I continue to work (wash hands, rinse out a dish, wash veggies) in the other side. With one sink, as you "rinse", the debris goes all over the sink (I am not terribly messy) and you can't just plop the pan or dish down until you rinse away the debris in to the disposal. Even a small sink can hold lots of dishes or contain work while you throw stuff in the disposal side. I am still trying to get used to it and it is fine (first world problem here!) but if you are a two bowl sink person; don't second guess yourself like I did!

Disappointed and sinkless - be warned of shipping damage
Fair Warning - this is a not a review of the sink itself. I gave 4 starts to be fair because I believe that the sink is of great quality and I would love to be able to write a thorough review of the sink as I really want to install this in my kitchen. However, I have made two attempts to purchase this via Amazon and both times the box and the sink inside have arrived terribly damaged. Both times it was shipped USPS which to me seems completely ridiculous given both the size and value of the sink. Given all the positive reviews my experience may be the exception but I wanted to warn potential purchasers that you may find yourself frustrated trying to obtain this beautiful sink because of the shipping method! I'm now going to investigate other avenues to purchase as I'm certain a third would attempt would arrive just as broken as the first two.

LOVE this sink
I went back and forth if I should purchase the Ascend bowl or the divided sink. I went for it and purchased it. I LOVE IT. I do not miss hand washing because you can still fill the sink with about 5" of water. Cookie sheets and all of my big pots fit. I worry a bit when I put a hot pot on it but not a mark ever. I have been using this sink for almost two years. I never put that one clean glass up on the counter. I leave it to dry on the ledge. I used to always have a drying mat next to the sink. Not anymore. It is easy to clean. I have left a few things in it that I thought would stain (panic), Not so I clean with Soft Scrub NO Bleach and it looks brand new. My only complaint is that with all composite sinks suction cups do not work all that well to hold a sponge cup. Oh well it drains on the ledge.....

Beautiful, big and durable.
Beautiful, functional and exactly what we wanted. Actually, my wife wanted this style and I was skeptical. But she was right the little shelf is very handy for holding items out of the way of the main sink whether it is cereal bowls waiting to get cleaned or beans in a colander draining. It is so nice to no longer have to fight a divided sink to was large items. We keep a dish tub handy for handwashing smaller items as the sink is huge and could probably hold a small dog!Purchased and professionally installed in spring of 2014, reviewed Nov 2019.

Wonderful and cant say enough good things
We put this sink in 6 months ago and it has been a joy. I cant say enough good things about it. The price was excellent obviously. It fits into our dรฉcor well with our black and white country kitchen dรฉcor and granite counter tops. The sink itself is a brilliant design and fits our kitchen lifestyle well. The "ledge" comes in so handy. I keep the dish soap there in a small bottle, our hand sanitizer and sponge. You can barely see them when you come into the room because they are almost hidden but so handy. The left side of the bowl is plenty big for even our biggest pots and its nice and deep. Paired with a swan neck faucet, its perfect. The sink itself is so easy to clean and being a dark color no staining or funk. Its so smooth that it rinses perfectly. Best sink I have ever had or worked with.

I sink I like it
Arrived in perfect condition, well packaged and securely wrapped inside. It did not have any damage at all. It's a real good looking sink but I will have to update this review after it has been installed. The company that is cutting my granite counter-tops is taking the sink to properly cut the shape and undermount the sink. I will update the review after the work is complete.UPDATE: 10-26-13Well the sink is in and it looks great! I tried to upload a pic but Amazon wouldn't allow me. My friends love it because it is so deep and stepped too. I set up the drain so that is goes to the rear of my base cabinet which allows me to use the space more efficiently. I still say get this sink! **I uploaded an image to the product page.

Very nice!
We bought a brand new house and hated the dual stainless sink. Unfortunately the quartz top was already cut in this shape and our choices for a replacement sink were limited. We had a gorgeous expensive porcelain sink in our old kitchen so I can't give the Swanstone a 5 star. But it is a beautiful sink. I wasn't so sure about the built in shelf, but I'll have to say I absolutely love it. It is very functional indeed. All in all I would do it again.

The sink has a good balance, of style
The sink has a good balance, of style, functionality, and last but not least durability. The nero color, along with the non-standard rectangular shape really looks good. We love the raised platform, coupled with the single bowl. It really seems to free up space when doing the dishes, or prepping food. Our sink has held up very well, even with three teenagers in the house. The sink is no worse for wear, and stands up to dropped dishes or utensils. Many folks worry about dark colored sinks due to hard water stains. There are several solutions. The one we found to work best with this sink is a couple spritz of goo gone, and rub into the sink. Viola no more water stains.

Looks great, built strong.
Updated Review:I have had the Swanstone granite sink installed for a few months and wanted to provide an updated review. Overall I am extremely happy with the purchase, my one suggestion for those looking at purchasing this item would be to purchase a small rubberized drying sheet that can be placed on top of the small drying shelf. The shelf itself is low-friction and slightly slanted which has encouraged some of my mugs to leap to their untimely end...Pros:+ There appears to be no film build-up what-so-ever which is a common problem for most quartz sinks.+ For a quartz sink the maintenance to keep it clean and looking new has been non-existant, I am surprised and a little confused.+ Strength fo the build. The sink is rock-solid (no pun intended)+ Style, so far everyone who has seen the sink has been thoroughly impressed by the look of it. It goes a long way to making the kitchen stand out.+ No chips, scratches, stains or anything!Cons:- Placement of the drain in relation to the slanted shelf. Twice now I have had a mug slide off of the quartz shelf which landed perfectly in the recess of the sink drain. The mug, both times, immediately shattered beyond recognition due to the perfectly distributed impact on the base and all edges. Interesting to see, but I miss my mugs :-(.Original Review:It looks great in the counter...not too sure what I will use the small shelf for...bit too small for drying dishes...looks cool though.

Really like this sink, I'd buy another one.
We bought our sink in 2014, it has been exactly what we wanted. Once a week I treat it with veggie oil and looks like new. The only concern I have is my wife dropped cutlery (knives) in the sink and it put tiny pitts in the sink, there has been fading but the oil brings it right back. I guess for being 6 years old it's done pretty good.
