Amazing!
I was afraid to to get this after my mom's review. Her Shark has a couple quirks that drive her crazy. She complained that hair gets wrapped up to easily in her brushes, it loses suction too quickly if you don't clean the filter frequently, and the tools don't turn for different angles. Mine picks up hair without getting caught in the brush at all, I don't mind cleaning the filter weekly as suggested in the manual, and my brush attachment DOES swivel! Here's my pros and cons because those are always helpful in the reviews.Pros:The suction is so strong that the brush almost makes it drive itself.But-You can also adjust the suction and vacuum right over a small rug without it being eaten upIt's awesome on hard floors, too. You just flip the power switch to the middle position and you can ride right on to the next floor.Previous vacuums I've owned, used to spit the dirt out of the back when vacuuming hard floors, but this just sucks it right up. I credit the incredible suction for this.Let's talk about the attachments for a second... I prefer a longer crevice tool, but this one works just fine and because of the vent holes near the base of it, you don't have to worry about blowing up your vacuum when you shove it down better the curtains. The brush tool is super awesome. It turns around for different angles making it easy to sweep different areas. For example, under my counter and vanity, by the kick boards, there's an area that seems to collect webs and hair pretty frequently, but this moveable tool makes it easy to get up under there without haven't to be on my hands and knees and upside down. Now, the Upholstery tool! Oh. My. God! So, you know those lint brushes that are red and pick up everything on your coat or black dress pants? The upholstery tool has little strips of those on both sides! Not just that, but again, you can adjust the suction to sweep more delicate areas. We don't have mini blinds, we have bamboo shades that are pretty delicate and a brush tool just doesn't cut it. On the "less suction" setting, it's the perfect tool. On the full suction setting, it's the perfect step tool. I have previously had the pet attachments with the rolling brush and I loved them for doing the carpeted stairs, but this upholstery tool is all I'll ever need. The flex hose is long enough for anything I would use it for. I can reach right up to my ceiling with no problem. The machine isn't too heavy or hard to push. It's easy to empty the canister, but because of the static, I like to wipe it with a dryer sheet. Now, some cons. If you can even really call them that. I think it's just more me being picky. There's no place for the upholstery tool to ride on the machine. Once the cord is wrapped up I just wedge the tool in there for storage.Which brings me to my next con... I miss the automatic rewind feature of my previous vacuum. Not that it takes a long time to wind it, it was just one less thing for me to do.Ok, one last complaint, if I'm really thinking about it. It's also about the power cord. If it was 2 feet longer, I could reach more rooms without having to change plugs.Seriously, that's it. With three kids, it's important for me to have a good vacuum that does a lot and this one doesn't disappoint. I would recommend it to everyone. Well worth the money. Even if something should happen to the one I have, I'd buy this again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Shark, for making my life a little easier.

Powerful, simple, light weight vacuum
I recently did away with all of the carpet in my house and went with engineered vinyl flooring for everything. So this review is not necessarily geared toward those with fully carpeted homes. My experience with the Shark Navigator has been outstanding for my vinyl floors. I have two cats, so there are tumbleweeds of hair bouncing around the house every now and then. There are also tiny pieces of cat litter near their litter boxes. This vacuum sucks them up like a hungry hungry hippo without spitting them back out. The unit is super light weight on my vinyl floors and has a nice sharp ball turning mechanism. There are 3 attachments, a wide suction, small slit suction, and brush suction that come with the vacuum. There's a slide feature to ventilate air if you need less suction for the attachments or the regular vacuum head. This makes it easy to vacuum rugs with the attachment without yanking out the fabric. It's easily kept my couch hair-free from my pets. The head unit itself has 2 modes, one with the spinning brush cylinder (for carpet) and one without (for carpetless floors). I've mostly used the carpetless, non brush spinning option, but did read in the instructions that there are mechanisms in place so as to stop the brush from spinning if something gets caught, so that you can remove it without burning anything up.The unit is bagless and easy to detach, carry, and open the flip style lid to dump the contents into your trash. I do recommend reading the instructions on how to assemble the main parts right out of the box (it's very simple), as well as the instructions for using the attachments and using the foot locking mechanism. This vacuum doesn't have a normal style foot lever to release the vacuum from its upright position (no more breaking those plastic kick pedals). You simply place your foot on the vacuum head, tilt the vacuum to the right, and pull back and it unlocks the vacuum from its upright position. This vacuum feels very well made and its design makes it really simple to plug in and go. The cord is long enough to handle any room, but not too long to make it a pain to wrap up. There's a hook near the top of the handle to hang the cord on while you're vacuuming to keep it out of the way. It's honestly the best vacuum I've ever owned and I don't see myself going back to any other brands.

This vacuum really sucks!!Seriously, the suction is great and I use it on throw rugs and just allow a bit more air in on the holes.
