Digital, but not that much
Written with clarity and common language, this book is a good read mostly for those that struggle to understand how digital technologies are reshaping marketing principles. However, I expected a little more, given the authors' background. Indeed, there is not much novelty in the ideas presented in this book. Besides, the authors just scratch the surface of the issues. While turning the pages, questions like "what else?" were often coming to my mind. In the end, readers may have an impression of incompleteness. Give me more...

Great extension of human-centric 3.0.
This was a great extension of Marketing 3.0. They really should be one book. Going from product (1.0) to customer (2.0) to human (3.0) centric marketing was articulated so well, I was curious, what is 4.0? I find human centric marketing to be more than successful, but also righteous. It is just good practice and that leads to good business. 4.0 is not a move away from human-centric marketing. Instead, it is an extension of that, highlighting the increased connectivity the world has experienced since 3.0 was published. If reading for the first time, read 3.0 and 4.0 as one book. 3.0 highlights the why and how marketing succeeds with human focus and values, and 4.0 is great at identifying social strategies and measurements for brand advocacy. The 5 A’s of the customer journey identified in 4.0 are very useful as a general marketing tool. The examples used in the book help you as a marketer self identify and leads to helpful strategies to grow and improve.

Theoretical, made me think, but far from WOW
Glad I read it, but I expected much more aha moments. As a novice, it gave me some basic theory. Some theories were a good starting point to personally asses our company's marketing. What bothered me was that quite a lot of justification for the theories, was - in my opinion - intellectually dishonest or at least too far fetched. What also bothered me, was that almost all step-by-step guides gave so few practical tips on how to implement them in non-trivial situations.

Yes, they do know where the future consumer is heading
I'm devouring this book! I downloaded it yesterday and can't put it down. The information and foresight is solid. I work for a manufacturer and we are starting to feel the shifts that are referenced in this book. I appreciate everything I'm learning from this book thus far and can't wait to read a few more pages tonight. I know this will be become a valuable reference for me.

A well written and researched book that provides great insight into the digital marketing landscape.
This book is great and beneficial for anybody who works in marketing. Marketing 4.0 discusses the shifts that have occurred as we continue to adapt to the digital landscape. Dr. Kotler and the other authors take us into the consumers mind by discussing the customer path, and how they go from awareness to advocacy. The authors mention the importance of utilizing marketing metrics such as purchase action ratio, brand advocacy ratio, and net promoter score in Marketing 4.0. They use examples to show the importance of integrating online and offline channels to improve customers overall experience.

Great read for Marketers
Really interesting take on the way that Marketing has evolved. He high fives himself a lot in the book, but besides that, I think it has some fair points around how technology has impacted what we do. The shift from the 4 P's to the 4 C's are definitely worth the read.

Kotler sigue dando clases!!
Excelente libro, me encantó.

Excellent Cutting Edge Book On Marketing!
This superb book by Philip Kotler is necessary reading for everyone. Great case studies and examples. Philip Kotler is the father of marketing and this book is very up-to-date. I recommend this book without qualifications. This book is text to speech enabled so you can listen to the book or read the book or both. Great read! This book is one of the best books that I have ever read. $11.99 is an amazing value for an up to date book on marketing by Philip Kotler!

A great supplementary manual for those applying Social Media to their Marketing.
With a son and grandson involved in marketing their own businesses with the use of social media I wondered what the world-class guru on Marketing (Professor Philip Kotler) had to say on the matter. I was not disappointed. "Marketing 4.0" is a triumph. In my view it needs to be considered as a extension to the disciplines of either/both his 'Principles of Marketing'/'Marketing Management'. Having witnessed a number of failed digital marketing exercises and having read Marketing 4.0 I now feel much more capable of assisting in the development of Digital campaigns.

A little bit dull and little original or interesting
Widely anticipated and praised by many, personally I found it all a bit dull. My summary would be mediocre. It's not that there's no merit in the book, it is well structured and covers a wide range of marketing ideas. But even though the title would lead you to think this was something new, I found it much the same as everyone else is saying. I also was not quite sure who is this aimed at, but suspect primarily the student market reinforced by having questions at the end of each chapter. If you want a short book that pulls lots of themes together this might suit. If you are looking for novel insights and innovative thinking, this isn't it. Kotler is a big name in marketing. This is not a big book.

Disappointed
If somebody like Kotler lends his name to a book about marketing, you have high expectations. Sadly enough the book does not deliver to meet the expectations. A few pages of fairly general platitudes. What a pity and wasted chance.

brilliant
Excellent book - changed job recently and marketing was new to me. After reading this book I could talk with real credibility given that marketing has changed so much over the past decade

A 'must read' for any person in the business of selling!
I found this much more digestible than most other marketing texts I've read, it's light, concise and backed up with useful stats. As a developer of business apps for small businesses this was music to my ears!
