Worth reading...
Given the vibration of the strings is absorbed by the bridge and nut, this was an impulse buy out of desperation for my Gibson J-45. I recorded in my studio both pre and post installation. I did not trust my ears, but the waveform was significantly visibly bigger (louder). The boom from the low e seemed to overpower when finger picked initially, but in contrast all the strings seem equally louder after playing and I was mic'ing at 4 inches at the bottom of the neck, which tends to lead to a bad balance on the low notes. To my ears the tone appears a bit less on the low end, but that balanced this guitar out for me. There is undeniable increased sustain, to the point that I will have to alter my playing on some songs. I know there is an explanation for why this actually works, but I don't have it. There is a flaw in the design, however. The pins extend the end of the string past the pin hole far enough that the pins tend to be pulled to either side if not tightened down to a degree I was a bit uncomfortable with. This seems unnecessary to do design-wise. No reason you couldn't make these with no l/r leverage. Installation was easy enough. There is a video review here or somewhere..maybe the product webpage..it shows before and after waveforms and my installation replicated it quite closely. Time will tell if the left to right lever action becomes a problem in gigs. For now, I am pleased.

GOOD IDEA, DOESN'T FIT ALL GUITARS.
Doesn't fit my Martin, where the action is low, hoping it will fit my Epiphone. The string break over the short bridge is too shallow allowing some strings to buzz.

Highly recommend the Power Pins
installed on 1973 LoPrinzi LR15, spruce top, rosewood back and sides. This guitar has a wonderful, clean mid and upper ranges. Bass is good, but not a boomer like our good old Martin... which is still in the shop having the binding re-glued.Just put the power pins on last night and the difference is remarkable. The guitar has always had a clean sound with good sustain, but now the sound is crystal clean and the sustain is hard to believe. All the way up the neck, too.I also added the D'Addario O-Port (also purchased on Amazon) and the combination of the two items has given the guitar an almost "Martin" bass. It's deep, rich, and, above all, clean and well balanced.I have a big old carved back maple bodied Guild 12 string and I'm going to get a couple of sets to try out on it.I highly recommend the power pins and the O-Port.Installation of the Power Pins was easy, even for a guy with fat fingers. Loosen the strings, pull the old pins, reach in the sound hole with the pin anchor and attach it to the pin (screw it in finger tight and then tighten with the hex key supplied.) feed the string into the slot on the pin and tighten to tune. Actually easier than I'm making it sound.Since I did this original review, I've bought sets for musician friends who are now power pin friends and have also installed them on my '85 Martin D28.How can you improve a D28?Power Pins.Clean, bright amplified-like sound. Hard to believe. Again, sure makes changing strings easy.

Bad choice
terrible to install, turned as I tuned scraping the finish on the pin holder wood even though very tight. bad experience and have the damage to remind me. I made sure everything was right as I really wanted it to work but spent a long time, messed up my guitar a ruined a new set of strings just to add to the fun

Besides quick string changes, these also boosts sound quality and projection.
While string breakage has never been all that much of a problem for me, I do have an acoustic that has laminated back and sides and loses in projection as a result. Installing set of Power Pins did give the instrument a better sound and increased projection. Installation only took about 15 minutes and the guitar sounds quite noticeably better.

They work great
I received the Power Pins a couple of days ago and installed them on a Blueridge BR 180 and there is a definate difference in sound, and sustain. I have a youtube channel IRONMAN INC where I review acoustic guitars and here is the link to where I installed the Power Pins if you would like to see yourself.[...]

These are great! They make re-stringing a lot quicker and easier and add a lot of overtones to the sound of your acoustic. I installed a set on mine and wound up ordering two more sets for my friends guitars. We all love them.
