William Morris: Artist Craftsman Pioneer (Masterworks)

I was so excited, HUGE coffee table book, all the better to see the artwork! Amazing price foe such a quality hardback too.I had to read it straight away, and although I'm a William Morris fan, I'm also a Dante fan aswell so doubly excited to see you included his art in the book.Highly recommend this book.

I love this book. It has many full page, high quality images of William Morris designs. I haven't read all of the text yet, as I have been so taken with the images.

This is what an Art book should be: full of huge images! At a time when Art books are getting smaller and smaller with even smaller images within them, this is a ray of sunshine. Many Art books also seem to work on the impression that the reader is studying it at degree level with the result that they are utterly turgid. This book hits the right level of depth and is easy to read. It's real strength is allowing the images to do the work with copious numbers of whole page images allowing the reader to be properly immersed in Morris' wonderful patterns and forms. It is also a very good insight into him as a rounded person with attention to his writings and his politics. It is also very good value for money as a fairly large hardback.

From the plush gold embossing on the cover, to the full colour page prints inside - this book is a must for any Morris fan. Big size and hard cover with lots of lovely full page colour photo's of many different and well loved prints. Lots of info and history too and also quite a few pictures of furniture and family photo's that I had not seen elsewhere. It's a lovely book and one that you can keep and not grow tired of. Recommended. You will be wanting an Arts & Crafts home after reading it though....... !

First, don't buy it together with other items, or they'll stuff it in a feeble (to large) box without ANY protection, and it'l arrive with torn corners as did mine! I miss some interior and furniture examples, but the book is certainly informative & nice. They do show some connected paintings.

A glorious book, full of lovely prints, informative history of Morris and his contemporaries. A perfect gift for anyone who loves Pre Raphaelite and Arts and Crafts. Amazingly good value money even at the full price. Highly recommend.

This book is beautiful!Well worth the cost and lots of interesting information about William Morris and the Arts and Craft movement.

Fabulous book, the illustrations are beautiful, very nspiring for any artist.
