Trip Down Memory Lane
This album is funky and strange. I dug an old vinyl copy out of my Dad's record collection when I was a kid, was fascinated by the cover, and came to love it mostly because it made so little sense it inspired a sense of wonder in me. Buying it on CD so I could gain a new perspective on my childhood experience I had more context for this, and some areas seemed less impressive. Specifically I remembered "Grand Ol' Land as the ultimate remix of classical Americana music, and listening to it again it's melancholy almost sarcastic take on that music still does it's job but seems less lush and more generic than I remembered. I still applaud the effort that went into this and would say it's worth a listen if your'e interested in experimental/psychedelic music and want to hear something that was a little too far out to make it even close to mainstream.
