Fox's Garden (Stories Without Words) Hardcover – Picture Book, September 9, 2014

This word-free story is a simple lesson in kindness, and is one of the most beautifully illustrated picture books I've ever seen.I've gifter this book many times over to families with young children.

Directed to this lovely book via Brain Pickings (in an article on compassion), I ordered it immediately because I love and appreciate exceptionally illustrated children's books. I am so glad I did. Don't read the book description - a spoiler will lessen the impact of a first viewing! I say "viewing" because this book has no words - but no reader will mind, because the story is fully and gloriously told. The titular rejected fox, tended compassionately by a child, has a surprise or two in store! The book is little but the lesson is huge. This has made it to the top of my "bring a book to the baby shower" list because everyone in the world can benefit from its hidden treasures!

This book was everything I expected. Her paper cutting was stunning and added so much to the narrative. A bonus happening was when my 4 1/2 year-old granddaughter came to visit, walked through the front door and immediately went over to the coffee table, picked up this book and paged through it. I told her it was a book without words, would she tell me the story. She did so, proving that art really can tell the story without words...

First discovered this in the library. Our toddler loves it and the art is beautiful and interesting, as well as the storyline that mixes dream and reality. A carefully created book. It's a nice size and pages are typical picture-book quality, so will tear if roughly handled. But it's a good, well-written book to add to your child's collection.

Beautiful, heartwarming story with a little surprise that made it all the sweeter. The decision to have no text only adds to the beauty behind this story of kindness and compassion. The artwork is excellent. Look for the details on all the papercuts. Amazing work, and the papercuts add another dimension to the images.

Beautiful little story.No words; just pictures. The pics are beautiful, and the story does not need words. Very happy with purchase. It's also great to get children's books from Amazon, because they haven't been pawed through on a store shelf. :)

Beautifully illustrated book.We take it in turns to make up the story and talk about the scenery. The kids adore this book.We liked this so much we bought more copies for friends.
