Problem Solved
Purchased another brand of step lights that did not produce enough light for total darkness. These are wonderful. The light is brighter than ones previously purchased and they come on just as they should (one right after another). I was about to pay to have wired lights installed but decided to try these first. So glad I did because I skipped the mess of cutting holes in the wall, dry wall replacement and a lot of money.

Great product!!! Does the job well!
Our insurance agent recommended we get "emergency back up stair lights" for our group home. We were reluctant because they had been expensive AND they were a nuisance. Our home is +100 years old and a beautiful, historical place. We didn't like the idea of more installation: holes in the wall; ugly; etc.I saw these online and thought they would be worth a try! Totally satisfied: easy to mount; no holes necessary, but optional if you want to screw them to wall; batteries are expected to last well over a year.I don't know HOW they do it; but when first one lights up, the others follow. The only exception to this is if a bit of light from somewhere else is shining on one spot, that light may not light up, but it doesn't need to.Not only are these good for an "emergency back up system," BUT we have found them very helpful for nightly use when using the stairs in the dark. It saves having to turn on a bigger light, which can be annoying to others. So far, we are extremely pleased with the product; felt it was priced fairly; received in a very short time. Our insurance agent is satisfied; our staff are pleased; and a temporary carpenter in the home was very impressed as well!

Save your money!
The lights I received did not work properly. They didn't "communicate" with each other. When one light senses motion it is suppposed to signal the others to light up. Didn't happen. Also, the lights were supposed to stay on for 60 seconds. They only stayed on for 10-12 seconds. The lights were supposed to detect motion up to 16 feet away. These were inconsistent, sometimes lighting up from 10-12 feet, other times at 5-6 feet. I am in the process of returning these. Very poor quality control.

False advertising
As mentioned by another reviewer, the lights DO NOT 'trip' one another. What you get is not whag is advertised. They are fine otherwise but not what I was looking for.

I purchased this product and love it! I originally purchased two starter sets and they did not trip correctly. More directions would have been appreciated when making the original purchase. After speaking directly with the company inventor I discovered that these lights are labeled A and B. A starter set of three comes with two A lights and one B light. If you are using six lights on one set of steps you will want to purchase one starter set and then Companion B sets sold in packs of two for in between the two A lights. Too many A lights placed between a combination of A and B lights will cause the lights to malfunction due to radio signals they are both casting and crossing. Companion B lights are difficult to come by and were initially sold with Home Improvements online and are now only found with Brookstone online, but are out of stock. Amazon needs to get their hands on these if they are going to continue selling the product. Also, don't listen to negative comments regarding this product. It is most likely the individual did not bother to find out why their product was not working properly and like most individuals desired immediate gratification so took the path of reimbursement instead of investigating the situation properly.

Wow!
I have a very steep stairwell and a 105 lb. yellow lab who often thinks it's a race to get to the bottom(especially)at feeding time. I am very cautious as if he knocked me down....Yikes! I installed these lights and although it hasn't slowed him down it, certainly it helps me see the stairs very clearly. They stay on plenty long enough for a safe trip down and then they shut off. A GREAT ITEM! I highly recommend. Well worth the cost.

Do not buy these lights!
These lights do not work as stated. They do not 'trip' each other to come on and they do not turn off when suppose to. I purchased two sets of these lights, and both did not work properly. Also, it has been very difficult to obtain a refund through the seller once I sent them back. Buyer beware. DO NOT BUY THESE LIGHTS!

Pathlights Wireless LED Stair Lights
I like this product for the dark evenings and nights while going up the stairs.I will note that if it is day light and there is light at one end of the stairs, they do not seem to trip on, which is fine since I can see. At night and darkness they do trip on which is why I bought this product.
