Works well but could use some adjustments
3 stars because it works. 2 stars knocked off b/c of the design problems.I tried 2 other coats before this one, and this cooling coat definitely works best! However, the aesthetic design of BOTH of those coats was superior (especially the one that had a loop and belt w/in it so that you didn't need to put a harness on your dog UNDER the coat).Of the 3 coats I tried, the clasps on this one are made the cheapest and seem like they will break easily (I've so far, so good, but I'm being VERY careful w/them).Those clasps are also hard to reach and tucked into pockets at the side of the coat. On one of the other coats I tried, the "female" side of the clasp was attached to material that STRETCHED, that way you could easily pull the female side out and snap the "male" side in & it would snap into place and hold the coat on your dog tightly.WithOUT that stretchy materials, it's actually pretty difficult to click the belts on either side into place (I keep one side closed and have my dog step through the coat so I only have to close one side).I also wouldn't recommend using a harness under the coat where the loop is in the top center of your dog's back. The small pocket on top of the cooling coat where you'd slide the loop through (or the clip of the leash in) is so small and tight, it's difficult to navigate. Related to that, it doesn't help that, no matter how I adjust the straps, the coat leans to one side by 1 to 2 inches (which makes finding the loop harder). I use an EasyWalk harness that I don't actually need (it's essentially a harness to help train your dog to walk properly) when my dog wears the coat, b/c the leash gets clipped in front. That way, i don't have to try and get the leash into the tight little pocket and find the loop at the top of his back. The team that designed this should have actually used it first. But the material works well and it retains the water and coolness quite well.
