Chevrolet's Most Dominant Stockcar
The 80's Monte Carlo SS is my favorite race car of all time so this was an instant buy for me. Scalextric did a great job with capturing the style of the car. Extremely easy to convert to digital. As an analog car, it works fantastic right out of the box. Just a super car from a fantastic era in NASCAR racing. Hopefully Scalextric makes some more racers from the 80's (Pontiac 2+2, Buick Regal, Buick Skylark, notchback Monte Carlo).

Good value relative to slot car prices
With free prime shipping the $29 was a good value. We use them (3) on a 3 lane wooden track and all are equal and fun to race. Without the free shipping, I would prefer some of the Carrera cars that are available for a few dollars more, but these provide good fun when raced against the same cars. They are like what is to be expected if you were buying an introductory track set. Nylon bearings in the rear, no bearings in the front. The cars themselves are visually good, have reasonable weight balance and good rear axel to guide length. On our 56' wood track they are about .4 seconds slower than Carreras available at about $35 plus shipping and about a second slower than low end Slot.It cars (8.5 to 8 to 7 seconds per lap). If all cars running are these, they make for a great time, but lag behind other costlier brands on a one to one basis.

Must read
Looks great but if you plan on going digital be prepared to be disappointed... the eye in the chip sits to far from the blade so it don't register laps or change lanes ect.. there is a minimum distance that has to be achieved so I had to put a strip of black tape to make up the difference in order to get it to work correctly..
