LOVE this case for underwater photos and videos!!
I am so happy I chose this case! I spent weeks obsessing over which waterproof case would best suit my needs for my beach vacation. I wanted underwater photos and videos. I read reviews, watched youtube videos, checked out images using hashtags optrix and lifeproof on Instagram, and talked to everyone I knew. What really appealed to me about the optrix design was that it took an entirely different approach than the lifeproof and other top names in waterproof cases. The other designs seemed to be geared at combining minimal waterproofing with all the time phone use, but I kept coming across mountains of bad feedback mentioning the lack of function of the phone as a PHONE due to the design measures of the case. Bad signals, bad audio, etc. and taking the case off when waterproofing wasn't needed didn't seem to be an option either, because lifeproof and others sited that the act of removing the case reduced waterproofing even to the extent that they suggested replacing the case after 15 removals due to the compromised waterproofing abilities. The act of removing the phone from your pocket could possibly break the waterproof seal. Sand could pop the the waterproof seal. These cases were attempting to combine waterproofing with everyday use, and it appears the technology is just not there yet. With the optrix design, you literally just drop the phone into a sealable waterproof case which takes about 7 seconds, and when you're done with the water, or say you have a phone call- just pop the gasket at the top and remove the phone. Super simple. Way superior waterproofing capabilities (100 feet submersible as opposed to 6.5) The ability to remove the phone from a bulky case as you wish. Touchscreen capabilities while in the case. This worked well for me. The only problem I had was inability to press the photo button once the case was on. Theoretically you can, but it's near impossible. So I just hit the video button on the screen and made video. Later when I wanted photos, I purchased SnapStill at the App Store for .99 and very easily chose frames from the video. It's my opinion the optrix is the best and safest underwater case for use only when needed. I'm including some photos made during my vacation. Super happy with this purchase!!

The perfect case.... takes awesome pics!!!
I'm simply amazed by this case! I was apprehensive at first based on several bad reviews. But I needed to get a case at the last minute, and this looked like the best option, so I gave it a shot. On my first snorkeling trip I could not believe the quality of pictures and video that I was getting. I was instantly happy with my purchase. I was using my iPhone 5s underwater for periods of about an hour at a time. I was usually swimming at the surface to depths of about 5 feet, but would dive down to depths of about 20-25 feet occasionally. I never had any issues with leaking. The touch screen functions above water, but not below water, so you have to use your iPhone's side (volume) buttons to take pictures. This is documented and was a known condition going in, so it wasn't a big deal. My only complaint, and the reason I did not give it a full 5 stars, is that my phone would occasionally and spontaneously switch mode from camera to video/square/slo-mo/etc. I'm assuming it was happening form the pressure changes. I would then have to take the phone above water to switch it back to photo. Also there were a few times that the side buttons stopped working to take the picture. I then had to take the phone above water, shoot a pic with the touch screen, and that seemed to reset the issue and it worked fine after that. I'd say these issues occurred about 5% of the time I was using the phone. It's a minor inconvenience, but it did cause me to miss a couple of good shots as a result. But overall, I'm still impressed with this case and so glad I bought it.

Doubts, Tragedyand Regrets... I wish I never even heard about this brand.
This product did not live up to its waterproof... To say that I'm highly disappointed is an understatement. Add to this that I am dealing with a saltwater damaged phone and I am absolutely livid.DOUBTSI should've known from how it was packaged. It looked like someone had already opened the box AND one of the flaps was torn almost in half. I thought that was weird but dismissed it, wish I hadn't done that.TRAGEDYOpened the rest of the box and was in love. I was looking forward to utilizing all that it had promised. I did the water test as suggested by the product directions. Paper inside was dry dry dry. So naturally I confidently took my iphone 5se for an ocean snorkeling excursion. So excited!I did not make it past wading depths when I noticed that there seemed to be a water "glob" in the case sloshing around IN THE CASE, ALL OVER MY PHONE?!?! Sure enough, SALTWATER IN MY PHONE. Heartbroken/horrified/all sorts of panicking feelings. I was able to run back to shore, grab a towel and take off the case so I could take out and turn off my iphone. But there was already saltwater in the ports. I wasn't even fully submerged, much less out in the ocean for more than 10 minutes. It promises waterproof protection for 33 minutes straight.REGRETSAnd now I try to get a refund, but Amazon is not giving me my full refund and they also require that I send back the product. Send back? Take the time/effort to go to the Post Office for this?! I am tempted to chuck it all in the ocean where it belongs (though it does not work). I can't even with this store/brand. I'm hoping the tech store here is able to fix it, but I am having doubts as the damage by saltwater is very corrosive compared to pool/regular water. I sincerely and utterly wish I never even heard about this brand! DO NOT BUY!!!! If I could give negative stars I would..

Quality Case At A Good Value
I really like this case. The videos I took underwater were clear and I didn't have to worry about any leaking at all. Not a single drop! I was a little disappointed that I wasn't able to take pictures underwater. No matter how meticulous I was when putting the case on, the moment it was underwater, the touch screen and side buttons were useless. But I could use touch screen and buttons when it was in the case but not in the water. Weird. So, I would start the video above the water than put it under the water to capture our snorkeling adventure.
