Solid rack with great attachment options
After doing some research on power racks, I discovered Bells of Steel through a Reddit post and decided to give them a try. I also spoke with the owner, Kaevon, before deciding on the residential rack, he was really friendly and answered all my questions as I was debating between purchasing this rack and the light commercial rack. I’m not a power lifter by any means (I’m an ex-avid-boot-camp style workout goer) and with the weight capacity of this rack being 700lbs it more than meets my needs. I decided to go with this rack and Bells of Steel as I really liked the attachment options that are offered. On my list of attachments to purchase are the lat pulldown, the landmine, and the y-dip, I’ll update this review once I order and receive them. I knew that this would be a one-time purchase, so I thought I’d invest a bit more in a quality product that was better than the entry-level racks that the local gym equipment store offered and that would last for years to come. Here’s what I like about the rack:- Feels really sturdy, posts are thicker than most entry-level racks (2.3 inches vs. 2 inches)- Plate storage is 2 inches in diameter and holds Olympic plates. Also the lat attachment holds Olympic plates as well with a 2-inch diameter hole, the other racks I researched only had a 1-inch diameter hole on their lat attachment meaning an additional adapter would need to be purchased to support Olympic weights.- Does NOT need to be bolted down - the feet (pictured) assist with the sturdiness. I do a lot of mobility work with resistance bands, the rack supports band work really well with no movement at all.- Padded J-cups are a nice touch, the bar isn’t clanging around when racking and unracking.- Safety spotter arms feel solid and come with metal tubing. They are great to rest the bar on when adjusting the J-cups to different heights.- The bare-steel chin-up bar has a good grip to it. To compare, I have a multi-grip bar that I bought prior to this rack that’s coated in yellow paint and is really, really slippery. I find I can get a few more pull-ups on this rack compared to the multi-grip simply because the grip is better.- Shipping was quick and arrived within 5 days of ordering using standard shipping.- Setup was also fast and went smoothly, we had the power rack up in about 45 mins. You’ll need an allan key set and a ratcheting wrench for setup.- It’s a good looking rack for my basement gym, I like the timeless look of the powder black finish (not a fan of the yellow that seems to be everywhere lately).I would suggest purchasing a 3/4 inch thick gym mat as flooring, two 4ft x 6ft horse stall mats would work well. Also the bar pictured is a standard 7ft Olympic bar, it fits quite nicely.Overall I’m really happy with this purchase, it’s simple (which is a good thing, I like simple) with some additional well-thought out features. Let the gains begin!

GREAT PRODUCT GREAT PRICE
Very sturdy well made, very easy to put together. Covid has shut down gyms and without a vaccine you cant get in, this piece of equipment has helped me finish off my home gym Bells Of Steel Forever Baby.

Overall decent rack
Decent value rack for the money. Packaging could be better as there is no foam or padding inside the box, so pieces arrived damaged from banging together. There were no missing pieces but one j-cup had a missing screw and another was cross threaded, so a bar can't be racked without damaging the knurling. I'm going to try contacting bells of steel on that one. Assembly is very easy and straight forward. It took me less than 30 minutes. The rack is surprisingly sturdy from front to back but does have some side to side movement. Overall I like the BOS rack. It's good value for money and I like that all their attachment fit on this rack if I want to add them later on. I'd recommend it over other beginner racks I've used.

Unsafe J Hooks, lack of customer service.
I ordered this rack through Amazon and waited over 2 months for it to arrive and eventually cancelled my order. During that time I contacted Amazon multiple times about the delays I was given the run around and told to contact Bells of Steel. I contacted Bells of Steel who blamed Amazon and couldn’t offer a solution or answer for the delay in shipping. I eventually cancelled my order (then at a later date re-ordered the rack because I had read great reviews online.)Review: decent power rack, sturdy quality material, however all the j cups and safety bars rotate to the right which caused the j cups to become unstable when you have a weighted bar on them. This is a safety issue while doing a heavy squat or bench. I contacted Bells of Steel and advised them of this issue. I received a message back saying it was a packing mistake and to send my shipping address to them and they would send me replacements. So, I sent my shipping address to them and received a message back saying that the rack I purchased was designed that way and they would not be sending replacement parts.I live across Canada from their store so they likely don’t want to send me the proper parts because it will cost them a bit of money. All in all, the cage is sturdy and solid, it is built in China and branded by Bells of Steel, likely the reason that I received the wrong parts. Bells of Steel told me that the parts I received were correct, if that is the truth there is a major design flaw which makes the j cups unstable and unsafe to use under a bit of weight. If you order directly from Bells of Steel they may be better to deal with but my experience with them through Amazon was not good. They basically washed their hands of everything that went wrong, and did not offer solutions etc. It has been pretty frustrating actually, I’ve never experienced any issues in the past with any online purchases. I don't like to leave negative reviews but this purchase has been a huge hassle and at this point I'm tired of dealing with it.

Rack arrived without all of the pieces
The product was delayed on delivery. I was only notified of the delay the day of expected arrival.Once the product arrived it was missing the majority of the pieces required to put the rack together. The product quality seems to be very good but hard to tell until its fully constructed.
