Creative Haven Kaleidoscope Designs Coloring Book (Adult Coloring Books: Art & Design)

This book had way too many pages with two mandalas and it was poorly drawn or printed.

I wouldn't have bought this at all based on the reviews except that I was able to use the "look inside" feature and actually see several pages. Personally, for me, what most people are hating is exactly what *I* love...the "sketched" look. I appreciate variety in my coloring books, and this provides it admirably! I use markers and colored pencils at different times and this book is ideal for colored pencils. The way I blend, the lines in this book suit me quite well. I would have given a full-out 5 stars except that there are 2 images on each page and due to their complexity, I really would have preferred only 1 larger image. I might be able to copy and print them out for myself onto cardstock, but even so, it's a bit of a bother. The pages are perforated as are all of the Creative Haven books which is a decided pro for them as a brand. I guess people who either color with markers and/or a heavy hand have issues with the designs in this book, but for more whimsical, "loose" artwork, give this a go! Unlike everyone else it seems, I DO recommend this book as an extra addition to any more standardly drawn coloring books.

I love Creative Haven books, paper is good quality esp for the low cost of the book. This is one of my favorites, third time I have bought this book. I’ve given several pictures as gifts! Easy to use pencils or markers.

Mandalas have been around since ancient t6imes. Today they are seen in rose windows in cathedrals, in southwest Indian sand paintings and frequently in the designs formed by nature. These circular designs are also in kaleidoscope designs. This book offers over 30 designs - many evoking rose windows and snowflakes. I must admit that when I first got this book I thought the designs would be too fiddly and didn't start coloring it for a little while. however when I tried to color in the first one I was absolutely engrossed. it is a wonderful coloring book, the designs are amazing and I like the fact that they are hand drawn and not completely uniform. the way the designs have been done you can choose which way to do the colouring to make different patterns. it is an extraordinary book and I will happily buy it again once I've finished it.
