BOOMco RailStinger Blaster

The nice thing about Boomco is that they've started doing rail attachments without forcing you to purchase a lackluster blaster alongside it, unlike Nerf's Clearshot or Recon. The Railstinger is an attempt to make a small hold-out blaster that attaches to the rail of another gun. It also has a fold-out handle for use as a small gun in its own right. The best part about it is that it connects to Nerf rails as well. The range is ok, but nothing compared with a Farshot, and I've had the occasional inexplicable misfire. The shots are accurate and make around 30 ft or so with no or little arcing. Part of the problem with the blaster is that it attaches to the rail by the fold-out handle, so it's less steady than it could be. Additionally, you prime and fire the gun at the same time by pulling back on the back end of the blaster, which feels awkward and will occasionally throw off your aim a bit. That last bit is also why I would recommend that if you have a choice, to hook the gun to the underside of your blaster. In that position, you can awkwardly just pull your hand back to fire it like a pump action. On the top, you need to move your hand and then grip it with your fingers.Overall though, it's a fun attachment that offers a hands free hold-out with you run out of bullets on another gun. If you're not into Boomco weapons, you'll have to buy a small pack of extra darts in case, since they don't fire Nerf darts, but considering adding a second small blaster is one of the first major changes that nerf modders do, it's worth it.

This is a really innovative accessory. The RailStinger is a single shot plunger blaster with a movable handle grip that folds away and allows the blaster to lock onto the tactical rail on the top of other BoomCo blasters. It comes with two darts and a smart-stick target.The blaster itself isn't anything to write home about; it is about as powerful as you might expect, but isn't terribly accurate. That's what makes it fun. As a rail accessory though, it's the coolest thing I've ever seen. It literally doubles the firepower of a Farshot or Whipblast. I'd buy it again because it's worth the money. I don't usually say that about blasters, but this new 2015 line of BoomCo products is off the chain.

Seeing as how these things have amazing range, are incredibly easy to fire, and fit on both BOOMco *and* Nerf rails, the better question is "why aren't they mandatory?" You'll be hard-pressed to find another rail-affixed "quick shot" blaster that performs as well at this price point.

I've had this little guy for about a month now. Until today, I've been pulling the trigger mechanism back and releasing it, with middling ranges and accuracy. Today, though, I pulled it back. Rey forcefully and it clicked ad released the dart! Using the gun as designed yields much better results and feels better as well. I love this gun.

Nice blasters. They all shoot very hard, and good accuracy.
