Bucasi Classic World Map Ladies Scarf in Blue & Beige

The red and green in this scarf are garish in real life. On the photo it looks like a brick red and a minty green on an off white background. However mine was garish bright red and green on a pinkish-beige background. Photographed on a white ground it looks cream but bunched together as a scarf would be around your neck its very pinkish. The lime color on the map is the only color that is true to the photograph. The artwork is otherwise very nice and crisp (the line work is brown) and the scarf is huge, which I like.I have a lot of scarves and at $12.99 I was not about to return it so this weekend I tea-dyed it hoping to soften the colors up. Since it is 100% polyester over dying generally does not work well. Using tea I was able to soften up the background (it is truly a sepia tone now). A good deal of red dye bled off the scarf the minute it hit the hot water but only the red ran and it did not harm the other colors. Subsequently after rinsing and then tea dying the red is softened considerably and green softened somewhat. The red looks more like the photograph but the green is still darker and greener.None the less I am happy with the result, especially the background. I hung it to dry and I scrunched it a little and I like the look. Its a great value.

This is a very classy accessory. It has old world maps on it in the colors that old world maps are, you know, those old ivory faded maps. Goes with clothing of red, green, blue, gold, ivory or black. It looks especially nice with my red skirt and ivory blouse.

Love the scarf although have not worn it yet saving for a cruise. The colors are soft not bright. I do wish it was easier to read, it appears to be a rendition of a old fashion map. It should be fun to wear.

Bought as a gift for my best friend and travelling buddy. She loves it! I might buy one for myself!
