I bought this product to use for storage on shelves in partially finished basement. I sort things by season to bring upstairs. I leave the coated cardboard box items in the bags, label the bags and bring up what is in the bags when a new season begins. I put all of the items in the bag or bags to keep from going up and down the stairs. I unpack the items from the bag and put the empty boxes back in the bag. Returning them to the shelves.The lighter colored bags make it easier to see the bags on the shelves in darker areas. Really hold their weight and shape. Hope these help others like they have me.

I am a designer with over 30 years of design experience. I started out in clothing and textile design, and today I design some pretty complicated injection molded products.I live in San Francisco, where they passed a law that forces merchants in all stores to charge ten cents per paper bag for things like groceries. Even before this ten cents charge, I wanted to purchase some sturdy comfortable reusable grocery bags, because paper bags are not very study, and easily rip.I am extremely impressed with these bags, and my observation are as follows:* Extremely comfortable handles make it easy to carry bags without hurting your hands.* Sturdy construction.* Bags are an inch wider than standard paper bags, and most importantly they are 2 inches deeper, which means you can easily carry much more stuff in each bag, while maintaining a lower center of gravity. Also, I noticed that when I used to use paper bags, when I would get home at least one bag would have fallen-over. Not so with these bags since they have such a wide/larger bottom.* Handles on normal bags are attached at the top of the bag about 5 inches apart, so they are not that strong. The handles on these bags are way oversized, and are sewn toward the edges of the bags, about 10 inches apart , and the handle material does not end there, it continues down the entire side of the bag, which translates into a much better load balance.* The bags have plastic reinforcement panels that line the bottom of the bags, which allows them to hold their shape, and stay square when they are standing up on a table.* The bags are a superb value.I noticed some people in reviews companied about two things:1. The bags smelled bad when they arrived. This is true, and I noticed it. The smell was not that strong, but I noticed it. After letting them air out for a few days, the smell went way.2. People complained about loose threads dangling from bags. I experienced this was well. Most of them were loose, and I simply had to pull them off. I noticed one that was still attached, so I cut it. The factory workers were obviously lazy, but it does not effect the performance of the bags.I keep the bags in the trunk of my car, where they take up little room when they are folded.These bags are made from Recycled Polypropylene, which is the material that grocery stores used to use for their flimsy little free bags. Kind of ironic when you think about it, that these great bags are made from cheap recycled Polypropylene bags ;-)It seems weird to get really excited about recycled Polypropylene bags, but they work so well and look great!!! They also strangely give me a Zen-like feeling of completion, like I won't ever have to buy another ineffective grocery bag.I very, very highly recommend these bags!!!Update on August 14, 2014:I used these bags on a daily basis for almost 6 months now, and I am stunned at how well designed and genuinely useful they are!!!They are so comfortable to carry and use. When I go shopping at Safeway or Trader Joes, I bring the number of bags I think I will need, which is usually two or three. So I start out with one bag, that holds the other two folded up or nested inside the first bag, and once I fill up the first bag, I take out another, if necessary and start filling it up. So just to be clear, I typically don't use shopping carts or baskets anymore. I just wander around and fill up the bags, and then hand them to the checkout clerk unpack, ring up and repack.They also came in quite handy when I recently went clothing shopping, since in San Francisco most stores charge ten cents for shopping bags, which just get thrown out when I get home. I also have recently found myself using these bags for transporting all kinds of other things. Recently I went to Williams Sonoma to get my knives sharpened, so I carried them in one of these bags. Just today, I had to take something to get repaired, and used one of these bags.Also, the fact that they come in a set of 10 is perfect!!! I typically keep 5 in the trunk of my car, and the rest stay hidden away in a bin next to my front door, so I always have access to a great bag.I also love the uniformity and consistency of the bags. Instead of having a bunch of mismatched bags, it is nice to have a trademark bag that is yours. I know it is common for women to have tote bags they carry stuff around in, and in my mind this is like a dude tote bag for the times when you need one.I cannot highly enough recommend these bags. They are truly superb!!!

I bought two 10-packs of these bags back in 2014/2015, and I still have a few left that I am still using - the rest have been purloined by family members because they're really great bags. I need more for myself, so I'm back for them after eight years of using the first ones. They really last a loooong time.

I am very happy with the two dozen grocery tote bags in Hunter's Green I purchased. They were well sewn, strong, and large bags with an insert. More and more grocery stores are doing away with paper and plastic bags and want customers to bring their own reusable bags. I highly recommend these. Mine even had the loop needed on them at the checkout counter. I also use them to hold Christmas gifts or any gifts. Anyone who gets one is always pleased to have it as an extra gift they can keep on using repeatedly! They can be used for so many things instead of just groceries. Your creative mind can find thousands of uses for them in your everyday life.Update for September 21, 2014:The price has gone up, and you get fewer bags now, but they are well worth the cost. I needed more of these wonderful tote bags. I chose the Teal color for 20 more this time. The Teal color is not even close to the same color as the Hunter Green was, but is a blue/green color. Hunter's Green was more of an evergreen or Christmas green color. They are still made well with the hooks, and the insert was covered with the same fabric and color this time. I can't say enough good about these tote bags. I have given so many of them away, and people always love them. They make perfect gifts without having to throw gift wrap in the garbage can. You can fill them with whatever you know your recipients need or will enjoy. For groceries, they will hold at least two of the plastic bags grocery stores use, with no garbage to get rid of afterwards. I think these bags are the answer to use for a lot of things. If you keep them on hand, you can always find plenty of uses for them. None of mine have had any odors, and have laundered well using cold water and a bit of detergent on delicates cycle, and air only to dry them for five minutes, and have held up to multiple uses. I am still very well pleased with this product and highly recommend them to everyone.I hope the manufacturers will get the Hunter's Green color back soon, as it is still my favorite for gift giving. The Red or Teal colors would do for gift giving, or even choose your recipient's favorite color, if you know it. Or choose a matching color for baby showers when the gender is already known, or if you know the colors they will be using in the nursery. They would make excellent diaper bag holders when you don't want to leave them in the boxes they come in at the store.Once you purchase these bags, you can understand how useful they are from then on. They even make great bags to use for moving smaller, more fragile items in your car that you wouldn't want a mover to handle in boxes. When you give stocking stuffers to your family members at Christmas, they make a great larger bag for holding more gifts. My family always enjoyed our stocking stuffers as much as our other gifts because a lot of thought went into them. Remembering the smaller details is always a large part of knowing that your gifts will be remembered for many years to come. Customizing your gifts is something personal that people will cherish about you.Update, March 30, 2015:It's just amazing how people love to receive these shopping totes as gifts. I am back for more, and hunter's green is available again, so I am going to purchase twenty more. FYI I also found some lovely pink and blue totes on Amazon that would be perfect to give in baby showers, female gifts, and male gifts. I even found some totes that are backpacks that are so adorable, I bought two of each color offered. Even if I never use them, someone will. It's hard to not buy these totes when you can find so many uses for them. To whomever sews them, I say thank you for your hard work, and thank you to the company who sells them. They make excellent gift bags that can be reused repeatedly.

After everyone went to the "smaller bags for a fee" program (yeah, I know the laws changed, but honestly, Walmart made their bags about 1/3 smaller to increase profit), I did not want to have a bunch of bags with different store logos on them (I should not have to pay to advertise for them), and the newer, thicker "reusable" bags are a PAIN, I opted to get these - single color, with bottom reinforcement. So far, they have worked very well. I have packed and overpacked them, and the handles stand up and they have been working great - especially for larger items. My only minor complaint is that they often don't stay open when you use them, so you are grabbing items with one hand while holding them open with another -- at least until you build a base in the bag. Minor. The only other complaint is how cashiers try to rush you when you are fumbling with bags now, but I digress.

Used these bags for the first time today. They are big and seem very durable. Even the cashier asked me where I got them because she said they were so easy for her to fill compared to other reusable bags. One bag holds a lot of groceries! Happy with this purchase and happier ti be done with consuming plastic bags!

The bags look good and appear to be high quality. Disappointed that I only got 9/10 bags (no blue bag).

I walk to the grocery store so I can get lots in the bags and use more so not so heavy. Handles are long enough to put over my shoulder.

Used for heavy groceries and held up well. Not sure if it will last through washing in a machine but so far, really good.

Just the right size for a reusuable bag.
