I actually do not use this to hold down carpet, but as a anti-scratch, anti-jump up tool in training my kitten. It works well. cats don't like the sticky nature of the tape so when they touch it, they go to something nearby to scratch on or climb on - like a dedicated cat scratching posts or a tree to climb on instead of climbing on the shelves.It is a humane way to train your kitty - doesn't hurt or scare them. You should never use a spray bottle to stop behavior as some people do. And the tape is easy to remove and does not leave a residue.

This tape is just ok. I have hardwood floors. I needed something to keep my carpet runners in place, since my golden retriever, Artie, is very active. I put this tape along each end of the runners. The tape is very sticky. It stuck to the hardwood floors, but it didn't stick to the back of the runners. Still, it's better than nothing. The tape did not leave any residue on the hardwood floor when I removed it.

Works well little hard to cut with scissors good quality.
