Found out about these on CNET. Amazing review by Steve Guttenberg and true to his every word. Do your research and compare. These sound incredible and are sure to delight any audiophile. I'm using them as desktop speakers for my Intel NUC (mini PC) listening to premium Spotify and the clarity and tone is unbelievable. I've tested them on all genres of music and they have everything: bass, mid-range, and treble. They provide the quality of sound you would expect from a premier full component system at an unprecedented value. I would definitely buy this product again and recommend to anyone who demands unrivaled beautiful sound quality. I definitely plan on buying Emotiva products again when I build my living room component system.

With my MS1DAC, these are really, really good powers speakers. I'm a traveler, so I went with these instead of the 5s due to the size, and greater potential to get tossed out of a hotel, or apartment. Really. They are surprisingly neutral, with pretty solis bass for their size. Unless you want over stressed low end because you only care about making loud noise, these will easily fill a mid-sized room.I tried a German competitor that has front ports. The chuff low end effect that some warned about was way too annoying, so they were sent back. I got these for half the price of the Adams, and they're far better. If you can afford the 5s or larger, and have a larger room to fill I would suggest the bigger and higher amped model. Just make sure you have a quality dac/pre to get the most from the Emotiva's. I do wonder what they would sound like without a component dac. Probably still good. Just not as good. Anybody know ?

Waited a long time for these to be back in stock but the wait was well worth it!! I have them connected to my 27" iMac via a Schiit Modi 2U DAC and Magni 2U headphone amp. I'm also using an Audio Engine S8 subwoofer for the extra punch. The highs are silky and smooth with a strong tight bottom end. Vocals are crystal clear beautiful.Note - I know the description doesn't say this is a pair but it should as I only received one speaker. I then call Amazon customer service and very nice woman I spoke with made sure another speaker was shipped out for the next day! She even called back the next day to make sure everything was ok.

These speakers are fantastic! Bass extension in spite of the small size is very good.The neutrality is phenomenal! Woodwind instruments, piano, drums etc., all typesof voices are reproduced with a clarity and neutrality which is unbelievable, the spatialreproduction is beautiful. I can tell, the timing and transients are dead on, in complex piecesthe individual instruments can be distinguished in wonderful clarity.Considering the price of $300.- per pair, including amplification, you can't do any better than that.They are near field monitors, as which they really shine, but I also tried them in a very large room(35x50) with 14 foot high ceilings. I paired them with a sub woofer there, because it is physically impossible,to get bass out of a 4 inch speaker in that kind of setting. All aforementioned qualities where still apparent,of course a listening distance of 25 feet and reflections from the almost bare walls took a bit of a toll on thespatial reproduction, but the quality and neutrality was still impressive. They can be used as close computerspeakers, but will also shine in living rooms with a triangle configuration from 5 - 10 feet or more, where I wouldrecommend stands, to bring them a little away from back and side wall and in ear height.

Amazing value! They are placed on the left and right corners of my desk facing me as I sit at my computer. These little speakers are superlative at reproducing all kinds of sound, from classical, to jazz, to vocals, to electronica. I agree with other reviews that the base could be a little deeper, but you still get the visceral feel of bass notes. The highs come through pristine and distortion free. Emotiva knew just how to pair the amps with the speakers to get full effect.

I own two pairs of AKG K240's, which are a standard studio headphone. They sound fantastic. I bought this pair for recording vocals, because the 240's are semi-open and I don't want bleed through.The sound of the K44's is pretty harsh, with really strong mid range. I tried breaking them in by running music through them for about 14 hours, (probably not long enough) but didn't notice any change. I will say that they are very comfortable, (not as comfortable as the 240's, but those are $80 more) and for the asking price you get a lot. I gave it four stars because my expectations for this price range were met. I woudn't consider a headphone that doesn't have full size ear cups, and these are self adjusting to your head.Again, I bought these because I needed closed back headphones and I like the way AKG's self adjusting system works. If you are looking for headphones to listen to music through, you're going to want to pony up a little more.On the other hand, for things like gaming or video editing, I would recommend these because of their low price and comfort over long periods.

I can't say enough. Visually, these things look and feel incredible. The color and AO branding pops. You see beats and bose everywhere. The monster icon verifies the prestige/quality of the headphones, but the AO branding is detailed and on point. The iconic blue pops. The steel AO trim is etched into the headphones (not laid over.) Where competitors' oversized headphones can get uncomfortable over time, these can be over your ears for hours and you wouldn't even notice.The sound quality is clean and powerful (not quite Bose but Beats). The low price is a reflection of the industry going wireless. If you don't mind wires, these are an absolute steal (originally $299.99).

These are superb! They create a delightful sound field all around me while working. Bass is surprisingly good given their small size, and midrange/highs are very clear. I can listen to these all day without fatigue. They pair perfectly with an Oppo HA-1 headphone amp.
