Nello is a magnetic bike bell, its simple and friendly shape recalls the shape of a little ball. A “sounding” little ball that fastens easily to the bike’s handlebar by means of a simple support – supplied with the bell. Once arrived at destination, Nello may be pulled off and slipped into a pocket. To ring Nello all you need to do is touch the bell’s “head”. But there’s a surprise: the sound changes every time Nello is attached and pulled off its support! This way you can select your favourite among three different sounds. The little ball won’t bounce, it rings. Snap it on and pull it off, the sound effect will change. The pedestrian on the bike-path might jump at the ring, but he’ll surely step out of the way. The smiling cyclist will thank and ride away. Technical Specifications Components Nello + magnetic base + 2 different sizes rubber supports Sound intensity > 90 dB Type of sound 3 different sounds Power supply 2 x CR2032 batteries (included) Weather-resistant

Nice design but functionality leave much to be desired.
This magnetic bike bell ball has good concept but the functionality leave much to be desired. To start off, the sound is loud in your quiet apartment but it can barely compete in the noisy street of New York City. After a couple of days of intermitten usage, the loudness of the bell have been greatly diminished because I assume the battery inside the bell is not powerful enough to sustain the bell for much longer than a week of intermitten usage. The sound will be negligible on day 4 if I do not change the internal battery and let me tell you, the price of the replacement batteries will surpass the price of this bell unit itself after doing four battery replacements.Hence the shortcomings of this bell. It should really be equipped with a rechargable battery so every night when I get home, I can recharge it so the bell will stay loud the next time I use it on the streets. It's quite a shame the designer never thought about making this bell a usb chargable unit.

Don't use it on bumpy roads
Today was my 1st time with my new bell on my bike. I was so jazzed, couldn't wait to tap it and hear the nerdy sound it would make. Well, WARNING...if your roads suck and are a little bumpy be prepared to stop and chase the ball that bounces off its magnet. I finally had to take the ball off and put it in my basket, no bell for me. Unless you're riding on a perfectly smooth paved road this bell won't cut it. Bummer.

All style, no substance.
All style, no substance. Two of three sounds disappeared after a couple of weeks. The third and loudest sound lost strength and became too weak for alerting pedestrians. Not suitable on normally bumpy, city streets, because bell falls off its magnetic mount. This has been a total loss of money and a waste of time for me. I only bought it because it had won design awards, but it appears the award was based on concept (magnetic bell) and whimsical look, rather than just the bell’s short or long term functionality. DO NOT BUY THIS BELL.

Magnetic Bike Bell
Love the uniqueness, clever design, good quality. Various sounds but I did find the sound level a bit quieter than I expected making it harder to hear. Thought it would be a good idea rather than having to keep saying "on your left" all the time. This "bell" is better but not optimal for me.

but that was not the worst. I tried to replace it
Worked well for about two weeks. The battery got weak in way too short a time, but that was not the worst. I tried to replace it, but he battery cover was on so tight, the coin slots stripped when I tried to remove it. Concept: 5. Execution: Trash.

Boys are Happy
Bought for my boys for Christmas. Maybe not a serious bike bell but it's great for my mountain bikers as an early warning with a grin.
