We will ship the plant that you see in the images above via Priority Mail. We will also include one or more "pups". These will come to you bare root so you will need to plant them right away. Pot the large one into a 6" or larger pot filled with standard potting soil. The pups can be placed, pointed side up, on top of the soil. You will want to press them into the soil just enough to make them stand upright. This exotic plant that originated in South Africa is an easy and adaptable plant to grow. It is well suited for containers and prefers sunlight but may scorch in hot, sunny, dry locations; making it a good houseplant. This plant will live for many years. In fact; it may even outlive you! You will actually be able to pass this plant from generation to generation. We have one in our family that is almost 40 years old! It is easy to grow from seed and will usually take up-to 2 years to bloom, however may begin producing "pups" within the first year. You can see the little bulbs in the images above. They can be placed in soil to grow once they have fallen off of the mother plant. Do you have any Pregnant Onions in your family yet? Now is your chance! What an awesome opportunity to start a new family tradition!
