It's a great prayer book because it challenges the reader to dig into emotions, center God in the heart, and examine the related Scriptures in the new Passion Translation. The graphic design of the pages and cover are beautifully done. The Psalm references are beautifully transcribed and titled in this prayer book.There's a calming peace from praying Psalms daily, as I discovered in this prayer book from authors Simmons and Rodriguez. It’s a unique writing style of declarations woven through the Psalms. It doesn’t have the story element familiar to devotional books or magazines, so even though it’s a 365 daily format, the writing style is unique and prayer focused.Scriptures are referenced to "The Passion Translation," the modern published work of author Brian Simmons based upon his heart-focused research of the Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic manuscripts. From this perspective, the simple prayers are focused on the heart.Often when reading the prayers I sensed a lyrical writing, similar to how Psalms were written as songs. Sometimes I sensed a rhythmic flow to the words and great imagery. For example, "Awaken the Earth" (prayer for February 29) is a visual description of "God…riding the clouds and awakening the earth."Grammatically, there was a frequent use of the word 'I" throughout the 365 prayers. For example, "Holy Place" (prayer for March 30) uses the word "I' a total of eight times and five times as the first word in a sentence. My eye kept drawing to the author… and frequently seeing the self-focused word repeated in the prayers. The prayers are written from a place of emotion, similar to Psalms.For the prayer "Release" on June 23 the word "I" is used often as the prayer language in this book:…I call to you...I can't see the path…I stand at the border…I wasn’t created to…I lay these anxieties…I choose to release…I move closer……I chose to remember…I forget whatThis prayer attached to Psalm 100:4 says:You can pass through his open gates with the password of praise.Come right into his presence with thanksgiving.Come bring your thank offering to himand affectionately bless his beautiful name! (TPT)My expectation is a related prayer giving thanks to God and praising God, yet in this prayer only the last two sentences meet that expectation. I wanted to grab a pen (which I did) and turnaround the prayer into one of praise.Many of my friends are enjoying the book too.

I bought this book because, well, full disclosure, I do personally know the author of the prayers, Gretchen Mure Rodriguez. I had gotten to pre-read a couple of pages and knew it was going to be good. But then I got the book. And every day it seems to be something that I'm going through personally and a prayer that is just for me. So, I bought 6 more to give away as gifts. The first person I shared it with said exactly the same thing. Why? Because while we all have different struggles and issues and times, we are all the same, with the same desperate need of more of Him. Just like David and the other writers of the Psalms, we have our "good" days and we have the "not so good" days. We have our days of triumph, hallelujah, and dance and shout. And days of desperate need for wisdom and guidance. And days of feeling completely faithless and failure.Combined with The Passion Translation of scripture, the daily prayers are equally passionate and anointed, deep, heart-felt, thoughtful and worth meditating upon.#GretchenMureRodriguez

THIS BOOK IS AWESOME JUST RECEIVED & I'M IN LOVE WITH IT ALREADY...DEFINITELY IGNITE THE HOLY SPIRIT FIRE IN YOU. BRINGS BEAUTIFUL INTIMACY WITH GOD LIKE NEVER BEFORE. Holy Spirit surely comes while reading these prayers. I highly recommend this book if you are seeking intimacy to become closer with God and experience the Fire of the Holy Spirit. I posted picks its a beautifully crafted red leather book that can be carried in handbags. (The red book flags are mine bought at Dollartree doesn't come with then book) Good size. I'm going to order another one for the car. Can't go wrong with this purchase. Buy and Enjoy!

Each day I'm delighted with prayers, so beautifully written, and affirming of the amazing love our God has for me that I share them with my best friends. Each day is titled, with a daily reference to a verse, or set of verses from a Psalm, in The Passion Translation. Each day's message is different, written according to the Scripture verse(s) referenced, but they apply to each of us who long for our Lord.The book itself is just glorious! It's cover is rich, in stunning ruby red leather, with an elegant pattern of tiny flames etched into the leather. This flame pattern is also the light background to glossy, gold-toned pages, with the same ruby red as its border. It's as beautiful as the messages contained within.This book of prayers will be one I treasure for years to come and is going to be the perfect gift for my BFF's & family.

Never has a book affected me so much! It’s like Dr Simmons is reading my mail!!! Like he KNOWS my my history and destiny and everything between!!! I’ve purchased most of his books and enjoy them but this one is IT! I’m usually wrecked before I’m halfway through reading the page. I’m remembering where I came from and where I’m going. How does he keep reading my mail here? I guess I’m not that unique. We ( HIS BODY), were all desperate at one point for HIS saving grace and tender mercy. Our deepest longing is to worship and adore him. By the end of the page I am thoroughly humbled at HIS merciful feet. HE picks me up every time and floods me with HIS healing light and LOVE. Wow! Don’t get the cheapest book. Skip a meal and buy this one. W-O-W!

I already know how to pray the Psalms, so I really did not think I would need “Prayeras on Fire” added to my daily devotions. I was wrong! One does not have to wait till the beginning of the year to begin this book, simple begin on page 1 and read several a day until you catch up. That is just what I did. Each day the prayer or prayers are perfect for the day I am facing.

I've fallen in love with this book! Its one of 3 devotionals I read every day. The prayers ao so beautifully expressed. They go way beyond my ability to speak my heart. They just instantly connect me with Abba, His Love, His joy... His everything. The people I know who read The Passion Translation of the Bible, and/or this book, are raving about it too!

Love the Psalms so these thoughts and prayers are lovely to add into your devotions. The words are beautifully written, often making your souland spirit soar.Also the book is small enough to take with you anywhere and has a great ‘feel’ to it! Great quality!

I love this book and read it regularly it brings passages from the Psalms alive and gives daily encouragement. I do recommend this.
