This is a beautiful story of the kindness and compassion of one little boy who wants to bring back the joyful memories of a friend. Story is beautiful and the illustrations are beautiful.

I read this book over and over for years to encourage my students to write. Never failed as they write their own memories.

A little boy loves his elderly neighbors. He learns one of them is losing her memory, and wants to help her remember.

This delightful book, while written as a children's book, is also wonderful for those involved caring for the memory impaired. I read the book to a group of residents in our Memory Care Center and it prompted wonderful conversations about things we DO remember, and what triggers memory. I can' t recommend this book too highly. I guarantee if you let a copy of this lie around somewhere it WILL be snatched up. That's why I had to order my 2nd or 3rd copy!

I love this story! If you have a loved one with dementia or Alzheimer’s, it could make you teary eyed.

This book was first published in 1984. I discovered it when my children were small in the early 1990's. The water colour illustrations expand the text and convey such warmth. This little book will bring a tear to your eye, but smiles to your childs face. I am so glad it is still in print and I have just brought a copy for my great niece. I have a mind to buy a little stock so I can make sure this marvel will remain in many memories, like it has in mine.

Great story that is perfect to use with the 'Twiddle Muffs' I am making for people with Alzheimer's and Dementia! The 'Twiddle Muff' can be generic or have person items for that individual that had significance inside ... such as watches, keys, materials, etc.

Brought back great memories of reading to my kids, bought this for my new grandson.
