Komelon 4916IM The Professional 16-Foot Inch/Metric Scale Power Tape, Yellow

We need a solid, yet small, tape measure for our media office, and the Komelon 16' is perfect.We didn't want a heavy, bulky tape a contractor might need, but we did need quality. The Komelon is a great weight and incredibly handy with both standard and metric measurements. It's worked well for every use we've had, from measuring elements of prints to measuring/hanging large wall pieces.The soft matte finish on the tape is a nice touch as it prevents reflection from our big, overhead fluorescent lights. When we need to focus on a small portion of the tape, we can always see it clearly.The Komelon is such a good product, at such a good price, that I bought one to keep on my desk at home. Highly recommend!

I bought this for some light, indoor work in an office environment and I am impressed with the quality.This tape measure has a sturdy ABS plastic case and is comfortable in the hand. The retraction spring has fairly even tension over the full range of extension and is not overpowering at full extension. The nylon-coated blade is bright and easy to read. The black plastic piece where the hook meets the case has a bit of spring to it so it cushions that "snap" when retracted too quickly. These are all nice to find in a reasonably priced tape measure.I checked the first 48" against a long steel rule at work and found that the inch markings were quite accurate (all the marks within 1/64th of where they should be), well within my needs. (Not all tapes are this good; some marks "wander" up and down by 1/32 or more; some cheapo tapes have large cumulative errors--perhaps 1/32 short per foot.)The measure has a stand out distance of about 55 inches--very typical for a 3/4 inch wide blade.In short: Sturdy, accurate and very affordable.Search for "4916IM" on the Komelon USA site for product info:[...]

Clear designations and easy to use. If only it had a self locking mechanism, it would rate a 5 star!

I have previously used Lufkin tape measures because they are nice and come in a inch/metric combo like this Komelon. I have never heard of Komleon until I saw this on Amazon. I saw the price and thought "this looks cheap and made in China". Well after reading reviews about the quality, I decided to try it out and I am pleasantly surprised. This tape measure surpasses the Lufkin. It's of mostly same quality but feels better when I am holding it. It comes it a bunch or different sizes and styles. It's easily available for order on Amazon. The blade and the inch/metric scale are very nice. I am overall a very happy and would never buy a Lufkin again.

I love Komelon measure tape, they are well made and well designed, plus decent price. I purchased this one size 16ft. Its housing feels durable, has no smell and fits comfortably in my small hands. The tape has bold, easy read numeric ; lock works smoothly. Just a small note that this one is not self-lock and there are no fraction marks ( the green one I put next to it for sizing comparison is self-lock )

I am one of those woodworkers who is always misplacing my tape measure. I don't wear a tool belt because it can scratch fine finishes, I had to stop clipping them on my belt because my belts get chewed up, so my solution is to have many and just grab another one rather than waste time looking around. There is a spot where I lay tape measures when I'm done, it holds 3 right now. I think I own about 8 or 10 tapes, so the others are in a toolbox, with my sales kit, on the floor of my truck . . . I added this tape measure onto an order to get free shipping and because I don't own a metric tape. I didn't want a dedicated metric, though, so this appealed to me. I prefer a 16 foot length mainly because it is long enough for most everything I do, and it is not bulky and heavy. I own 25, 30, and 50 foot tapes, they are nice when you need them but not for everyday use. I checked this tape for accuracy and it was spot on my old folding rule (if all my measures agree, they must be right!). It feels slightly flimsy, but works smoothly enough.I dinged one star because they packaged the thing so securely that after cutting the plastic around the outside, then cutting the plastic around the clip, then cutting it again, I then had to unscrew the clip just to get the thing loose without breaking it. I'll get over the aggravation, but they sure could make things easier on the consumer. I just noticed the description says "The Professional" . . . if I used metric every day (as a professional), I'd look for a sturdier tape. As is, this one is fine for my needs.

At least as nice as a name brand tape measures at a lower price. In fact, better than most. The lock works smoothly, there are no sharp edges on the tape or the housing, and the tape feels slick and durable. The housing feels ergonomic, solid and durable. It has a higher quality feel than I was expecting based on the online image.

The tape measure itself is nice, with easy to read markings and a springy retractor. Feels good in your hand. However, the lock broke after only 4 months of occasional use. I've never had this happen before with any other measuring tape. This one is labeled "professional", but the lock is not sturdy enough even for a casual user. I've ordered a replacement, hope it will last better.An update. I am downgrading this product to one star. Bought a replacement, which lasted through no more than 20 uses. The tape broke off at its point of attachment. I have several tape measures that are still going strong after 15 years of use. Komelon is a big disappointment.
