Not durable
It's not very protective. It lets a lot of light through.It's not very durable. Outdoors the metal coloring comes off after a month, leaving just a transparent film.

Durable
We used the Mylar to make a spaceship for our Halloween display. It was amazingly durable. We were able to pull the duct tape off of it after Halloween and save it for next year.
