Cover Max Bottom Mount Spa Cover Lifter

Excellent lift. Very strong, easy to use. I had to reinforce the side of my hot tub to mount it because it was weak. Once that was done, installing it was pretty simple. It is a good design that should last a long time.

It worked well for 6 months of very light use. I'm away on business a lot and used it only about 20 times in the 6 months, I'd estimate. My son opened the spa last night and let the cover "fall" to the back with a little too much oomph -- and both pipes kinked right at the bend. The tubing is simply not strong enough for a standard cover (mine is exactly as pictured in the Amazon listing, installed in exactly the same fashion). Now I'm going to have to order another one (!), but this time I'll spend a lot of extra time and effort in reinforcing the tubing at the bend/hinge point. Well, first I'll try contacting the manufacturer to see if they'll send me only those two pieces under warranty, but I'm not holding my breath. I'll update this review with positive news if they come through for me.Update: This is a tardy update. The seller (not manufacturer) did come through when I contacted them. They said that the problem was beyond the 30-day warranty period, but that they could sell me another set at a discounted price -- which I accepted, and they delivered quickly. The seller also had a recommendation, which I implemented: I used a pair of strong bungee-cords attached to the top corner of the tubing and near the top of the tub, which become very taught as the cover is hinged back ... and thereby provide a "shock absorber" to the opening ... as well as reducing some of the weight that is placed on the corner. I also made a couple of small wooden blocks that the bottom tube rests on when it's opened all the way, so that it doesn't open quite as far as it used to ... which again reduces the weight on the corner. I plan to (but haven't yet) also weld a piece of tube brace on a diagonal between the vertical and horizontal tubes. Meanwhile, the bungee cord and wooden blocks and being very careful when opening it have served well.

Lots of screws but easy to put together. Operates well.

Big help in removing cover. Needed two of these for a swim spa. I added pvc piping inside the bars to give add strength the poles due to the wieght of the large covers.

My dad has one just like this and he loves it, so I figured I should try it too. Installed in 30 mins. Very sturdy, easy to use! Love it!!!!!

The lift was delivered on time and in damged. However I thought the instructions were very weak, like they were written by a Junior High Student. The self-tapping screws were a joke. I have used a lot of self tapping screws in my life and these were pathetic. They wouldn't cut into the steel without a lot of drilling and when they did cut and bite they broke off befor they even were fully installed in the hole (probably from the heat of trying to drill in the steel). After the 5th broken screw I went out and purchased quality stainless self-tapping screws. I wouldn't buy from this company again.

decent product at this price point. I would rank this higher except this is the 3rd replacement because the hinge point is much too week and corrodes fairly quickly then cracks -- I would rank this lower except i have yet to find a comparable product at this price point -- as I installed this latest version it appears to have that same week point
