I initially received this book as a gift and it quickly became a household favorite! My 2-year-old adores it, frequently requesting it as a bedtime story.As a mom and early childhood educator, I love that this book incorporates various animals, some of which are not your typical children’s book animals - this is great for expanding my animal-loving child’s repertoire.The general theme of the book is the use of opposite descriptor words (e.g. high/low, loud/quiet). When reading the book, I act out them out using my voice or hands, respectively. This is very developmentally-appropriate content for early childhood!I also love a good rhyming book with repetition - this is excellent for language development! I will often pause while reading and encourage my toddler to fill in the rhyming words.Overall, this is one of my favorite children’s books (and I have read A LOT of children’s books). It is now one of my go-to gifts for fellow teachers, baby showers, and children’s birthdays! It’s a great purchase that you won’t regret!

Love this bear series - it started with Bear Snores On, which my child received as a gift when he turned one. He fell in love with Bear and we have all the rest of the books. He asks for them to be read almost daily and memorizes the books so we have fun "reading" them together. This book, as well as the rest of the series, has the cutest images and rhymes. What works best is the repetitive phrases, which help my toddler learn the concepts.

Have you read karma Wilson’s Bear books??? If not you are missing out. One of my, no probably my Favorite picture book series, bear has great friends who take care of him, keep him awake and in this book young readers will learn about sizes. Fun text and great illustrations.

Love to use this book in pre-k as a social-emotional connection to our unit on opposites! Being very different from each other doesn’t mean that you can’t be good friends!

I'm a fan of the Karma Wilson Bear stories. I am a special education teacher and they just cover alot of topics. This book did not disappoint. And I loved the theme of descriptive words. I used this as a tool for part of my state alternative assessments.
