My daughter enjoyed reading this. I felt some of the words were a bit too advanced for a beginner reader though. Most words my daughter was able to sound out and just needed help when the words were above her level. The book has lots of repetition around themes which is a great confidence booster when first starting out. Plus, it finishes with sight words to re-affirm the lesson. The only weird thing was that the book turned seasonal with a Christmas themed story. The first story was about monsters and then somehow we arrive in Christmas. My daughter didn't care as she was just excited to read the bed time story herself, but I thought season neutral content would have been more appropriate.

I like how there were several stories in the same book. It was helpful to have the sight words listed individually on different pages at the end of each story. Good basic knowledge questions were also included to help check comprehension.Very enjoyable and we'll written.

Hated the pictures, the words were too big for a beginning reader, (seriously which beginning reader can read insects). Awful for beginning reader. And if they're just looking at the pictures to say the word then that's not really reading.

Granddaughter

Great book for a kindergarten child

I bought this book for my granddaughter who is struggling to learn to read. She loves it. The stories are great. I find them much more engaging than some of the older, rhyming, sentence like books. Kind of a See Jane run, grown up with a sense of fun...

Our grand daughter was so proud to read this book. It put such s smile on her face. Even her 3 yr old sister likes it

With plenty pictures, easy structure sentences and very little distraction, this is the book to help your child learn.Stories are not long enough for a bedtime reading, but they are long enough for a reader who is still unsure of his skills and looks to read something simple but engaging.Well done to the author.
