not for beginners - find something else
While it looks like it is for beginners, a beginner would run into issues.I actually got so annoyed that I didn't flip all the way through it before starting the return.Teaches banmal (Informal Korean) so you can't actually use any of the sentences in it (that I saw at least) unless you want to be rude. This is basically teaching the reader to use that level of politeness to everyone including total strangers. If you want to speak to people that you don't already know well, look for something that teaches the 요(yo) form, which is the basic level of politeness used in every day language.Korean from zero & talk to me in Korean both teach that form. There's also the "-mnida" which is usually way too formal for everyday use. (& it's harder to conjugate the verbs). Some people do prefer learning it but I don't.Back to this book: if emphasizes romanization (English spelling of Korean words) at IMO the expense of learning the Korean spelling. (Romanization is fine in moderation in my opinion but that was bad ).It also assumes too much for example within a couple pages of learning the character it says to "write the missing characters & the batchim" without explaining what is a batchim (characters on the bottom of a syllable)

Great resource for Korean learners
I bought this workbook to help my Korean-American friend who's taking Korean classes at school but wanted a Korean drill book, and it's been a tremendous help (we're half-way through the book) in her Korean study! The best part is its wide spectrum of questions, such as alphabet puzzles and word-picture matching questions, and it adds fun to what might be an arduous, boring task. Although it's not a text book that teaches the bascis of Korean grammar from A to Z, they put some effort in briefly explaining the grammatical part of the study.Of course, you would need a textbook to learn it in depth - this workbook does a nice job of complementing what you learn from a textbook. One word of caution though - for some of the questions, especially for reading questions, you will be expected to open up a Korean dictionary because it doesn't have English translation, which I believe is deliberaterly designed so, to help us learn the vocabulary on our own.My one suggestion for the next edition of the book will be adding some coverage on conversations and expressions, maybe with some audio support. Hope you all can master Korean!

Great supplementary workbook!
This is a fairly comprehensive workbook on many different categories. It's composed of questions of different difficulty levels - some are very tricky, but that helps you identify the types of questions you frequently miss. Practice makes perfect!!

I have quite a lot of people studying Korean around me (thanks, K-pop!), and it’s quite easy to find grammar books but exercise books are few and far between. This book has an introductory level of grammar lesson at the beginning of each section and then a set of questions follow. I wouldn’t say you will master Korean with this book only, but as the title suggests, this is an exercise book and should be great if used in conjunction with a grammar book. Good luck!

It is a mixture of exercises
This book is useful only if you know some Korean and want some extra exercises to practice. It is not well organized. It seems like somebody gathered a bunch of exercises and put them together in a book. I still find it useful, but it is definitely not a textbook. I'm using it for extra content

For intermediate learners
As other reviews stated its not for beginners. If you have some background in the language then you will be ok. It doesnt explain a lot of grammar but expects you to. I think this book is used for a curriculum for a teacher to fill in the missed spots. Sadly its been hard finding a book that teaches the a-z korean, writing and grammar. I have to buy different books to learn the things each book lacks.

It came fast and I liked it. My only problem was that it doesn’t have the answers for the questions so I don’t really know if I’m correct.

Translation errors and no vocab
My main issue with this product is the number of translation errors in it - I would not recommend this for a first time learner as it can be quite confusing without a teacher to explain the grammar points but would work as a top up after formal lessons. The book is also lacking in vocab pages meaning you have to translate every word before you can even begin to start the exercises. In all honesty you would be better investing in the official books from the Korean universities.

Just what I needed to get past the beginner plateau
Well thought out questions and just the kind of repetition based learning to make sure that you really have memorised the subject. I just wish it had more questions - if they release volume 2 I would buy it immediately. Really good for the beginner to intermediate phase.

Nice book!!
Really good book. I found it a bit easy. I don’t know maybe because I am a bit advanced level now. But overall is a good book to have.
